[Q] Full screen contact image - only half? topic

I've seen it mentioned on other threads - but only in response to ROMs having the problem.
Does anyone know the solution to this? Kitkat didn't fix it.

PS in case you don't know - when the phone rings only half the face of the contact picture shows - the bottom half is black.
PPS yes - I've looked around for solutions - google phandroid and xda.
