[Q] stuck on activation - access all files via USB? topic

My phone had a hardware malfunction and I already have a warranty replacement. Before I mail back the broken one I wanted to get all the files off of it. I tried to fix the broken phone by doing a hard factory reset so I'm not sure if that erased all the files or not, which would make make this all a moot point.

The phone won't get a signal so I can't get it past the activation screen. When I plug it into USB I can just see those basic LG App folders. Is there a way to get it into MTP mode so I can see all the files?
