Change systemui dpi or phablet mode topic

Ihave asked this question in other forums but I think this is the right place.I just got a Nexus 5 and basically I want to go from the navigation bar and notification bar in first screenshot to the navigation bar and notification bar in the second screenshot...how can I do this on my Nexus 5 ? Any tried and tested solution would be greatly appreciated
