Phone calls don't work with standard earphones? Phone or ROM issue? topic

I'm at work and I just tried to make a call when it turned out to be too loud around me so I popped in my no-mic earphones which worked fine with my HTC sensation, I couldn't hear anything so I pulled them out and I still couldn't hear anything. No matter what I do if my earphones are plugged in the phone won't work on a phone call. Even if I start another call after that one it wouldn't work, only a reboot fixes it.

This is really disappointing as I have a no-mic tape player converter in my car. The audio would be routed through the speakers while the phone's mic would pick up my voice. So now that doesn't work. :(

Anybody running a ROM other than beanstalk that also has this issue? Not sure if it's the phone or beanstalk.
