[Q] [2012] Problems with Sixaxis Pairing Tool topic

This is probably more computer related but I am trying to pair a Power A Pro Series controller to my N7 2012 via Sixaxis/Sixaxis Pairing tool. The controller's packaging stated on the back that it works with SixAxis compatible games. Well I have tried the newest version and the alternate version on the website and both act the same. When I try to change the address of the controller it is just randomly changing the address and NOT grabbing the one I am inputting. Anyone know what's going on? Is it my controller? Is there a workaround? I do not have an OTG cable and would prefer not to have to buy one but I may look into it.
