[Q] Email app syncs oldest emails first topic

My work recently switched over to gmail to handle employee email accounts. I tried sync'ing my phone to my work gmail account using the email app (not the gmail app) and for some reason, the oldest emails get sync'ed first. In the email app settings, you can choose to sync the most recent 25, 50, 100, all the way up to 1000. I have a total of around 4500 emails. If I choose to sync the most recent 25 emails, the oldest 25 show up, if I choose to sync the most recent 1000 emails, the oldest 1000 emails show up. And it's not an issue of sorting, as it does correctly sort with the most recent up at the top, it's just that the oldest emails get displayed on the phone.

Has anyone seen this issue? Thanks!
