[Q] How can I troubleshoot? My phone is turning itself on, but only with a certain ro topic

I own a ZTE crescent (aka Orange San Francisco II, p736v) and I have been helping a creator of a rom for my phone to test his rom on my device. (He has a different variant of my phone). Anyway for some odd reason the phone turns itself on, I've never had this problem before and I don't if I revert to a different rom now either.

So far I have tried two stock kernels and a custom one by packaging and fresh installing them (after a full wipe) and it doesn't matter which I try, phone just turns itself on one or two minutes after I power off.

So what can we do to find the cause?
