[Q] Noob proof rooting topic

Hi,

I just received my first smartphone and am really excited about it :) Aaaand ... I'm totally new to Android and the whole rooting & Custom firmware process ;)

I want to root to Backup my TA before unlocking BL and was looking at zxz0O0's guide. There are now quite a few versions of the z1c dual recovery from NUT. I am on Android 4.3. Can I simply use the latest version?
