[Q] To get paid app topic

Hi,

I am a medical student and looking to download medical apps/books but they are way too expensive and i can not afford them :crying:
I have factory unlocked Galaxy S4 i9505.
Is there anyway I can get these apps for free or at a cheaper price? And if i root my phone then is it free?
