Root Didn't Take But Showing Knox Trip & "Custom" Status [Sprint version 4.3 / MJ4] topic

Hello Experts! I am trying to root my phone but it seems rooting may only have 1/2 worked. First the details of my device:

Sprint Note 3 N900P
Android 4.3
Software N900PVPUBMJ4

I have used qbking77's tar.md5 [for Sprint] file in Odin but my phone isn't actually rooting. (this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2474222)

Odin said pass; here's the report:

<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> CF-Auto-Root-hltespr-hltespr-smn900p.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..

After this, the phone gets stuck on the 'Recovery Booting / Recovery is not seandoroid enforcing / Set Warranty Bit Recovery' screen. Since I know patience is a virtue, I left it there (about 16 minutes) but it never went to the rooting screen. (the red android guy with the eye patch in his video)... I tried rebooting but all it would do is loop. I pulled the battery and then the volume down + home + power start and choose to boot normal so I am working, just not rooted.

I have tripped Knox and my device status is "custom." I have confirmed with Titanium Backup there is no root access.

If you must know, I'm rooting because I do NOT want KitKat and it seems rooting is the only way to avoid it.

How do I successfully complete the root?
