(Q) can i upadate via ota topic

Hi all, i just got my g2 verizon 2 days ago and i rooted the phone just now. I read that even though my phone rooted and stock rom i can update via ota. But i want to bypass verizon mobile hotspot. Do i still can update ota after bypass the verizon mobile? And if i flash custom rom do i have acsess to my gsm and cdma. Because i used both of them. Thanks in advance and sorry if this thread already been posted before.
