[Q] mobile that is capable/best to sens distance via bluetooth LE beacons ? topic

i am trying to find a mobile that is capable/best to sens distance/proximity via bluetooth LE beacons.
i know it needs at least android 4.3.
so i focus the motorola moto g because i cant spend more than 400 dollar on this (i need multiple phones).
does anyone have experience with the moto g and bluetooth le distance sensing ?
recommendation of devices or pointing to other sources of information would be very appreciated
