Facebook and Google. Windows 7 topic

How do I check something on Google while I am on Facebook please?
I could do that on XP, but everything I try on Windows 7 just brings up
Facebook again.
Is there a simpler way than closing Facebook down, getting Google, and then
going back to Facebook?
