Firmware Flashing topic

I'm having problems connecting to lte (700Mhz band 17 ... Same as AT&T) here in Freeport, Bahamas with my note 3 model #N900W8. Would it be safe/advisable to flash firmware for a N900A or possibly one for any of the Canadian carriers?
