This has always been the case for me, even beyond this phone (my old EVO 4G had this problem too), and I'm wondering if there's some kind of solution.
I don't really want to go back to TouchWiz. Frankly I'd rather have the camera issues than go back to it. Well, sort of. I'm a little torn between the two to be honest, but I am very fond of AOSP.
There's always some type of focus issue. TW is always good with focusing. Sometimes I have to cover the camera and let it see black to force it to refocus. Even then, sometimes I get this problem where it focuses, but it goes out of focus right after. Beyond this, color doesn't match up as well as it does with taking a photo with the Samsung camera, but that's fine because I can Photoshop them. One of the most bothersome things, however, is that HDR never works and Night mode isn't nearly as good.
Right now I'm using Vanir, which is lovely. This isn't an issue unique to it though. I haven't ever had an AOSP ROM that had a camera working the way I like, except the Google Edition ROM that died (development-wise) here in August. Unless it was picked up again and it totally passed me by.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I will be very happy.
Thank you :)
Edit: I'm also just wondering why this may be the case if anyone knows, and if this is unique to me.
