[Q] topic

This is probably a stupid question, but I nee to ask it anyway. I've seen plenty of boot animations of Planet Earth revolving and decided to try and create a slightly different one for myself. I have made a seamless animation of Jupiter turning and am very pleased with it. the problem is that it consists of 237 jpeg images and weighs in at a wopping 18.5mb when zipped. My first question is, is there any way to reduce the file size further, and secondly, because of the run time is there a way of removing the Galaxy S3 splash screen at boot.
