Hi. Recently I bought a second-hand Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8000. After receiving it I discovered it was rooted. I wasn't too happy having an already rooted device, being completely new to rooting. I thought that if I'd have a rooted device, I'd root it myself and make sure I knew exactly what was going on with it. So I tried unrooting it by installing the stock firmware using Odin. However, I forgot to enable USB debugging. Now the tablet is stuck on a screen which says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
The issue is that Kies doesn't detect my device when trying the emergency firmware recovery mode. Every time I use Odin it simply fails. The device can still go into download mode, but not recovery mode. So the only thing I can think of doing now is the trick of removing the battery to then forcing it to start in recovery mode after reinserting the battery. However I don't have the tools to do this. The only alternate way I can think of is to wait a few days for the tablet to die, then making sure I've got the buttons held down to make it start in recovery mode before I plug in the charger.
Are there any other solutions you guys can think of?
