Upgrade from MK1 to MK2 topic

I have Rooted my Sprint Gs4 mini that has mk1 firmware. I connected it to kies and there is a firmware update to mk2.
Will it be safe to upgrade firmware with a rooted mk1 firmware?
searched the threads around here but couldn't find a direct answer.
