Xt1032 imei repair! topic

Hello All,

Seems UE has Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400,

which is a the same as the S3 mini/HTC mini.

I have a question, if anyone can shed some light on it.

In the Android FS, there is a file imei.bin usually in /data/rfs/data/ some path, can't remember exactly.

If this file was to be modified, how would things work? Or is this file only for the AP level stuff, because ultimately the modem connects to the network, i'm guessing this file is just read out of the modem at boot time?

what is MSL? I have seen a number of commercial tools available which can repair IMEI, just wondering why they can do it.

Would I need to be rooted in order to read/write to the modem fd?

Thanks AJ

[Q] Moto G XT1032 rooting? topic

Hi all!
I'm a brand new owner of a Moto G XT1032, bought it on Amazon and got it today!
I've read the faqs and the resource guide, but I still don't know:
Is it possible to root this model number? And if yes, which method is best?
(I know I'd need to unlock the boot loader first)

I ask this because in the resource guide it's written that there is no supporting custom recovery for this variant and I don't understand if I can get root or not.
Thanks!
And forgive my English.

[Q] ROM GPE un a latinamerican xt1032 topic

I see people in the thread, they said they have problems with GPS but I see a Mexican user without problems in the GPS.
That issue is only maybe for European Moto G version ?

Motorola Moto G Xt1032 - no IMEI code and no reception topic

Hi all,

I have messed up my Moto G really badly, but now I'm really close to sort this out.
My last problem is with IMEI code, actually it don't have any so I can't get reception.
When I bought the phone, I have unlocked it, everything was fine, but recently I accidentally done rm -r * in root directory, when I was using CWM recovery, since that have lots of problems ..

I had similar issue with Gionee E6 but I found imei file in the phone and recreate IMEI number.
In Moto G I can't find imei file so don't know hot to fix this.

Please let me know how to recreate IMEI number.

Many thanks
Chris
