[Q] Motorola Moto G Fastboot drivers topic

Hello.

I own a Moto G (GSM) running CyanogenMod 11 rooted with TWRP recovery and the bootloader is unlocked. I have been trying to go back to the stock firmware using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2542219 but I have a problem. The adb drivers for my device work fine when I am in the system or in the recovery, but don't work in the bootloader. I am able to type "adb reboot bootloader" when I'm in the system/recovery and it will follow the command, but once I get into the bootloader it stops. When I type "adb devices" a line saying "List of devices attached" comes up with nothing underneath it.

I am completely lost and would greatly appreciate any help. Also I am new to XDA.

Thank you

[GUIDE] Motorola Service Menu topic

This is a short guide how to access the Motorola's service menu (Custom Quality Assurance).
I've checked around and it seems no one have had shared this.

1.Open your dialer
2.Enter *#*#2486#*#*
3.There are 2 options
-> Start CQA on menu mode
-> Start CQA in sequence mode
Menu mode is just a manual selection of given test
Sequence mode just runs all tests in a row.

## Note 1 ##
Entering into the service menu will disable automatic display brightness, just enable it back in Settings/Display if you are using it.

## Note 2 ##
In Sequence mode, the back key won't work, use Vol up/down to skip to the next test.

[Q] Motorola Defy getting stuck at boot menu topic

Hello,

I successfully installed cyanogenmod 7.2 on my Motorola Defy MB525 using the instructions from the cyanogenmod wiki "Install CM for jordan" (can't post link yet).

After a while, I wanted to install gapps, so I installed it from Bootmenu. After this, the phone was always booting to boot menu and I didn't know how to make it boot into the system, so I changed the "Boot" option default to something like "Normal", I think.

Now when starting the phone, all I see is the Google logo which stays there indefinitely.

I can still boot to BootMenu and tried a number of times to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and re-install the cyanogenmod7.2 zip, but it still can't get out of the infinite loop.

I found out that a posible solution would be to flash an image with RSD Lite, but it seems kind of tricky and I would rather leave it as a last resort.

Any ideas?

Thanks

[Q] complete image of a motorola xoom topic

This is my first post.
Is there a way that I can create a complete image of a motorola xoom and a complete image of a motorola xoom 2 and then copy that image to another device of the same type? We have about 40 of each kind and when I have to reinstall I have to go to each of the 4 fastboot processes in order to rebuild each device when someone messes up on of them. The Xooms are not rooted and are not assigned to any service providers. MZ604 and MZ607. I was thinking along the lines of when I would create an image of a computer and image another computer. If this is not possible how could I just copy all the apps from one device to another device of the same kind.
I know a little about fastboot and RSD lite.

Fake Motorola update signature to install 4.2.2 topic

The purpose of the thread is three-fold:

1) understand why a phone with 4.4 from the factory (not 4.4.2) cannot be downgraded by RSD Lite or motoboot to 4.2.2 with an exception that says "downgraded security" or similar
2) figure out if there is a way to fake whatever is detected during flashing to make it think it is receiving an upgrade and not a downgrade
3) figure out whether it is possible to modify the system
img from the 4.4 or 4.4.2 update and to inject root on a locked bootloader

[Q] Trying to root Motorola XT910, noob questions topic

Hello folks,

I am a noob in playing around with Android, although I am a long time lurker here, never dared to post anything, just because I don't know even basics.

That said, my XT910 was driving me nuts and many a times I considered throwing it in trash, but having paid ~0 hard cash, I did not. Lately, it crawled, rebooted randomly, hanging all of a sudden in the middle of the call was pretty commonplace. Factory reset did not help. The wi-fi connectivity issue has been there since day one. Where my another HTC One X connects like breeze and downloads whatever needed, XT910 still looks for any wi-fi connections.

I decided to root, hoping to tweak the device so that I can use it for at least another year or so. I followed the thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2257137 Very good thread, pretty easy to understand. I did encounter few issues and thats where this post comes in.

While this post shows screenshots for remote storage, I never got this option, but I added it in. I never got an option to enter the details of the location i.e. image 4 and 5 of the post. Still everything seemed to work as expected.

Majority of the on-screen prompts went as expected, they were not same. Considering this post, image 2, there is a good difference in what I saw and what the screenshot mentioned. My screenshot attached below.

So the questions I have, whats in the red boxes.
The first big red box is not in the original screenshot, but I got it.
The last line of USB disconnect, I never got, neither my phone vibrated in the whole process as mentioned in big red box.
Since I am noob, I can not decipher this, and with posts less than 10, I can not post in that thread. I will be really thankful if someone expert can flash some light on this.

Is my phone really rooted now?
(P.S. - Don't ask me for phone screenshots, they never work on my phone, with power and volume down button pressed together.)

Thanks a lot in advance.

Motorola Razr not turning on topic

The battery of my phone died some months back and recently I bought a new battery. The phone used to turn on with the earlier battery but never used to last without charger. Now I got the new battery installed it doesn't turn on. When I plug it in the wall charger, the motorola logo appears and the battery sign appears with 0-5% battery everytime and it vanishes in 5 seconds.
I don't have a factory cable.
Is there any other way I can turn my phone on?

[Q] Motorola Mobility apps on CyanogenMod topic

Moto X and G stock firmwares are probably the most AOSP-like ones, yet it's not perfect AOSP, like Nexus' one. However, unlike Samsung, LG, HTC and other manufacturers, Motorola apps like gallery, camera, bootanimation-changing service etc. are great - fun and sometimes even useful. I thought that because they are in Play Store, they could be downloaded after flashing CyanogenMod 11. However it shows that device is not supported. As far as I know Store recognizes devices by build.prop file, so I pulled build.prop files from both stock and CM11 (below) and noticed differences in "product.name", "product.device" and similar fields. The I tried pasting some stock values into CM file, but after pushing it to /system and rebooting it resulted in soft-brick.

My question is - is it possible to modify CM system files somehow (either place in flashable zip or copy while system is running and reboot), so that Motorola apps (especially camera and gallery with it's nice interface and HDR) would work on CM? I also pulled whole stock /system partition to computer and got list of framework files (screenshots attached below - I can also upload them if it's needed) - if proper modifying of build.prop is not enough, which of that files I have to push into CM partition to make Motorola apps downloadable from Store and fully working?

Stock build.prop

What Google's sale of Motorola means for us topic

I'm sure you all have heard about Lenovo's acquisition of Motorola this afternoon. And I'm also aware that it's too early to tell what exactly this means for us, and support for our device, but I figured I'd start a thread for us to post in when we learn more. Feel free to share any info or links.

Lenovo bought Motorola for 2.9 billion topic

I thought Google bought Moto three years ago for 12 billion or something. Too bad. Without Google, I doubt there will be another great phone like the Moto X.

[Q] Motorola Atrix 4G Stuck on Main UNLOCKED Screen topic

Hi guys, I'm a new user here. I've tried to install a new cyanogen rom on my ATRIX and for some reason got stuck on the main Unlocked screen where it keeps looping over and over and it doesn't go anywhere. I've tried to enter the ANDROID RECOVERY mode in order to swap and reset it, but it doesn't allow me to. Can anyone help me, please? I don't really know what to do. I hope I can find some clues here, it is my only chance.
