Questions before buy a z1 topic

hi folks,
i want to change my htc one, i was first thinking of m8 or z2, but when i see the price, i am not that fast...
so i had a look to the z1 compact, wich seems quite nice, and i like what sony is doing these days.
first question i had in mind: is it possible to use the external microphone you can see in z2 accessories, and it seems that the answer is no, due to the 5 pin jack, bummer :(

now the other question, can you run lifelog on z1 ? i guess it should n be a probleme, if somebody can confirm, would be great.

i ve read here and there that the z1 camera was suffering of quality picture issues, did you guys got an update to fix that (knowing it s same camera than z2 )
Also on z2 they talk about steady motion for recording video, i guess it s only software stuff, is it implemented on the z1 ?

hi all....just upgraded from the OG note on att and have a few questions about cases....i have saw there are lots of note 3 variants and im wondering if all note 3's are the same as in cases fitting them been lookin at a few on amazon and lots say their for n9000 n9002...ect .but will they fit the n900a any help would be great

I want to know if the bugs in the kitkat builds are noticeable when using the Rom in daily use, like: sms, phone, camera whatsapp, light games, browsing the web

Are the roms an improvement in compare to the stock rom?
How is the battery life? (Can it go through 3 hours screen on time on one charge?)

Which one is the best? (Cm11, carbon, Pac)

4.4 Update Problem and General Root Questions topic

I have searched vigorously for a similiar problem with my phone and have found nothing. Ever since the Kit Kat update select applications do not have access to my photo gallery. Applications include Adobe Photoshop and the One's own messaging app. When I choose to select a photo from my gallery it simply takes me back to the album page when a photo is selected. This continues in a loop until I get frustrated and decided the photo didn't need to be edited or sent in the first place. Twitter however has no problem uploading photos from my gallery which I find quite odd. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

As for the root questions I want to know what I can do with my phone. I'm on a Verizon stock htc one on 4.4 with s-on and a locked bootloader. I am unsure how to proceed with my phone. When I attempt to unlock my bootloaded I am confronted with the 160 error code. Should I purchase Sonics java s off or not? I am completely lost. Again any suggestions are appreciated

Few noob questions... topic

Wife broke my phone so I ordered a "broken" one off Ebay... New one is fine not at all broken... I was going to just swap screens out to keep my unlocked bootloader but the new one is on ics... So noob question 1 will motopocalypse work on 4.0.4 or should I RSD /ota up to .66 or .1? I would like to have an unlocked logic board in case I brick... Noob question 2 once the device is unlocked can I restore a TWRP backup from device "A" to device "B"? As always I thank you kindly for your time and reply...

Questions about latest ruu? topic

Just curious if anyone knew why HTC pulled the latest ruu? I know its available for download through alternate links, but wondering if there was a reason other than them planning on coming out with a newer version..

And curios to hear others impressions of the latest ruu. See different things through reading and see some people are seeing decreased signal and other issues. Wonder if those also pertain to he .4 ruu or were limited to the earlier ones.

As of right now stock rooted gets better battery and signal

-greenify pro
-deep sleep battery saver
-CPU sleeper

I've tried googling this and nothing direct is popping up..

[Q] New Note 3 owner from Nexus 5 - have questions (Greenify, Xposed, etc.) topic

I have the Nexus devices (5 and 7) and it was a breeze to to configure the phone (rooting, etc.) and easier because there is only one version of the phone. Now I have the T-Mobile Note 3, I tried to read as much as I can but there are so many questions due to the many variables on the phone (carrier version, locked bootloader, etc.) So I thought I will ask those I couldn't find the answers.

My phone is rooted using Kingosoft, KNOX is not tripped and on stock ROM with T-Mobile SIM card.

Q1. Text-to-speech
How do I change the this to use Google's instead of Samsung S-Voice? When I got to Settings, only S-Voice is selectable. I want to change it for navigation purposes

Q2. Home button - double click
Any change to configure this for something else, like Google Search? I've frozen S-Voice so double-clicking the button now does..nothing.

Q3. Disable My Magazine swipe-up
Quite often I accidentally swiped-up. Any way to disable this?

Q4. WTH is Beaming Service for Beep'nGo??
Went to Google Play --> My Apps and there is a new update for Beep'nGo. I did not install this, but I found out I cannot disable this - I could not find it under Titanium or Application Manager. How do I disable this? I am sure it's running in the background and eating battery of some sort

Q5. What is safe to Greenify?
From Nexus 5, there are just a few built-in apps in Greenify. But with the Note 3, there are tons of them, not including the apps I installed. Which one of these I can disable? See screenshot below.

Boot loader and other questions. topic

I have a Verizon droid ultra. I couldn't find it on the unlock bootloaders link posted in the beginners Guide. Is it possible to unlock the bootloader?The phone isn't a developers phone. I have one last question, if I remove the sim card can I flash T-Mobile framework and use family mobile?

[Q] Few questions... topic

Q1: Is Perseus alpha 36.3 ok to flash onto a Note 2 using 4.1.2? (ie. thru reading I'm unclear whether that latest Perseus is only for 4.3 or not).

Q2: Starting from rooted standard ROM but only standard recovery, can I flash Perseus (using Odin) - or must I have CWM or TWRP first??

Q3: Further to Q2 above - if custom kernel CAN be flashed even with standard recovery, is the main purpose of a custom recovery then to be able to do nandroid backup etc. first???

Keep in mind I'm not in this to be able to switch and swap roms and kernels left right and centre - once I have perseus running with my standard rooted 4.1.2 rom thats the way the phone will stay until I no longer have it. I don't want to go to 4.3 because of what I'm hearing about knox - I want FASTER phone with BETTER battery life - not the opposite - and fancy features don't matter - I like my standard rom and the extras pereus should bring me will be more than I'll ever want.

What does "bricked kernel" mean? I have a HTC one, rooted.
It is a european model which I believe is called M7?
When I google to get the kitkat 4.4, I get too many different solutions :) Need some advice on what to download since I have no idea which one of them that is good.
It's been some time since I used the phone, but back then I rooted it and did a "s-off or on"-thing.
Downloaded and installed some "pacman"-theme ROM that was ok.
But I want to delete this now and update to 4.4 kitkat, but want to keep the phone rooted.
Anyone that can link to a "step-by-step" guide on how to do this?
I downloaded a rom called Smasher X 5.1
Is this rom "based" on the kitkat 4.4?

at the price range of new devices and the development bases i was leaning more towards the X (vzw dev edition)

Noob to rooting! Help with simple questions?? topic

I've looked around however didn't find the answers so thought I'd just ask as might be useful for someone else too..

I want to install fonts on my Z1 Compact, however understand I need to root my device in order to do this.

I don't particularly want to change my rom or anything as quite happy with it.. Do I have a choice? Also, I'm assuming will lose all my personalisations during the process? Folders and icon location within my menu etc.

Basically, what is the most minimal disruptive way to be able to change fonts on my Device?!

Okay two questions I have a rooted vzm Droid RAZR M topic

I bought it in Dec so it came with latest firmware. Was able to root it using the exploit that came out in Feb. Anyway when I do a reboot it takes me to a flash failure display and I have to use all three physical button etc. With the firmware I have can I flash anything successfully?

A few questions about 4.4 Roms topic

Hello people,
I would like to know if there are any 4.4 roms that do not have problems with video apps like netflix, I use the NBA Gametime app with which I can watch NBA games but i have not found a 4.4 rom that allows me too watch the video in this app :( Also could somebody tell me if there is a rom that does not have the problem of muted volume for the first few seconds of a call. I find it a little bit annoying but not too much. It would just be nice to have a rom that does not have this problem.

I have an AT&T Note 3 (model no. N900AUCUBMJ5). I want to root it, but am not finding a FAQ thread for it similar to threads that I have used for my other android phones. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Or help answer the following questions?

1. Can I root this model Note 3? I have seen and read a lot of threads about phones being bricked or "soft-bricked" phones with this model no.

2. Can I flash roms on this model Note 3? I have seen and read a lot of threads about the bootloader being locked, etc. but I also see that there are custom roms for the phone.

3. Anything other guidance or advice you can offer is much appreciated!
