Questions before buy a z1 topic

hi folks,
i want to change my htc one, i was first thinking of m8 or z2, but when i see the price, i am not that fast...
so i had a look to the z1 compact, wich seems quite nice, and i like what sony is doing these days.
first question i had in mind: is it possible to use the external microphone you can see in z2 accessories, and it seems that the answer is no, due to the 5 pin jack, bummer :(

now the other question, can you run lifelog on z1 ? i guess it should n be a probleme, if somebody can confirm, would be great.

i ve read here and there that the z1 camera was suffering of quality picture issues, did you guys got an update to fix that (knowing it s same camera than z2 )
Also on z2 they talk about steady motion for recording video, i guess it s only software stuff, is it implemented on the z1 ?

hello Guys,

I would like to know what steps should we take to ensure maximum performance before installing a new official firmware.

I'm about to manually upgrade my galaxy s4 I9505 from jelly bean 4.3 to Kitkat 4.4.2 through Odin and i was just wondering whether or not i should format/erase/factory reset all the data currently the phone before stepping in into the new firmware? Will the new firmware erase the existent one? without the need of format?

I would like to know your expert view on this subject,

How to unlock without unlocked code?
Is the word "unlock" and "unlock bootloader" the same?
In order to unlock the phone for free, do we have to root the phone?

Anyone Miss there Car Before? topic

So I just bought my FIRST car. My First Vehicle was my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee it had 78,000 miles in Oct 2008. I was 16. Well Friday I`m now 21 I went to a dealership and ending up Leaving with a BRAND new car! My Jeep had 188,127 miles on it at time of trade in. I just really been wanting something with Better Gas and I do LOVE the car! I got a decent deal a Brand new 2014 Kia Soul. But once I took my stuff out of my Jeep Ive just been emotional yes I know I`m not afraid to admit that about My Jeep when I left. Don`t get me wrong I LOVE my new Car its Amazing! But the memories I`ve had in my car mostly the last 4 years and Just being inside my Jeep I`m missing :/ If I could had the extra ,700 which I got on Trade in I`d just keep it and or buy it back from them to have for Hauling trash & When it Snows.

Anyone ever run into this issue? and How long did it take for things to get better?

I still have unlimited data and I'd like to make the most of it, so I'm hoping to find out if/how about a few things before I activate my VZN GN2

* Can I block ota update to prevent new limitations?

* Can I sync with MS Exchange server without buying the corporate data?

* Tethering options?... I'd love to drop my cable ISP.

I'd really love to avoid rooting if I possible, so I'm asking for stock options and apps. If I need to root just say so. I can dig around for mods myself... don't want to waste anyone's time. (Off the shelf solutions may be helpful to other noobs)

Hey kindle owners ! I need your advice and also opinions on the 7' Kindle fire HD...! :)

I am a student and basically I'm getting a tablet for reading and also for movies/music. Before I actually buy it, I need to know what I should expect from getting a Kindle for my daily use. There will be a lil of light gaming tho.

I've read that there's no USB OTG function for kindle. One of the cons because this tablet is suppose to last at least for 5 years. Paying about 200usd on my own as a student so it'll be a painful experience if I don't know what I should expect from this tablet.

[Q] Backup before bootloader unlock? topic

I am going to unlock my bootloader sometime next week (and root after that ofc).
I already used my phone for several weeks thought, I got it fully configured to my taste.

1. What exactly gets deleted when I unlock my bootloader?
All apps + usersettings + smses etc? Also everything in /sdcard ?

2. What is the best way to backup all data?
I can backup /sdcard alright, but is there a non-root app for backing up all apps + settings?

[Q] How do I increase the delay before "device options" menu comes up. topic

The "Device options" menu keeps coming up when all I'm trying to do is sleep/shut off the screen. Is there any way to make this come up after 2-3 more seconds so I don't accidentally keep getting it?

i'm having screen issues (phone keep face dialing even though screen is off). i think i need a replacement device. i'm with verizon.

i am rooted, have cwr installed, and have a debloated version of 12b installed.

do i need to go through the hassle of putting the phone back into its factory state before taking it in for replacement, or do they not really care about that anymore and i can just take it in as-is?

[Q] note 3 beginner questions before custom rom install topic

Hi,

I am looking at flashing some custom roms to see which one I like, I have got root by using the cf-auto root by cahinfire but, before I begin I just want to make sure that I back every thing up correctly to avoid any trouble further down the line.
As I understand it ( I use the term 'understand' loosely ) I need to back up the EFS folder and imei
Is that all that is needed? or is there something else that i should do? essentially I would just like to ensure that I can revert back to a stock rom, im not that concerned about knox or warranty. Im sorry if this has been brought up before but as a novice I would appreciate some assistance in gaining a proper understanding of the requirements before starting off

Query before unlocing bootloader topic

what is the difference between rom & kernel flashing ? Are they interdependent (eg flashing a custom rom requires custom kernel beforehand or vice versa) ? what difference do they make by flasing custom rom & kernel ? Do they depend on odexed or deodexed rom ?

Flashing kernel requires cwm/ flashtool with unlocked bootloader.Do flashing rom also requires same ?

I need to clarify these things befre flashing rom * kernel.Also which is the best one till date for custom rm & kernel?

XL C2104, 15.3.A.1.14, Odexed stock rom with locked bootloader & full root.

[Q] Phone screen black but still working? (Like nothing before) topic

The screen is not frozen for stuck or anything, it is literally black and the touchscreen was and is broken. Like here is how it went. I got back from school, I was mad because I got a bad grade on my test somehow and my parents would not be quiet about it and when I got to my room my phone randomly shut down 5 times for no reason and then it happened. I threw my phone at the floor and then it somehow flew up and hit a sharp edge on my table and then it fell on the floor again (BTW my floor is cushiony and soft, not hardwood). I was scared because I love the Nokia Lumia 900. I went to go pick it up and when I did, there was like blue liquid, almost like pen ink, coming out of the bottom right of the phone (I do not have images because this happened at November 2013, it is January 2014 now.). I thought it would clear tomorrow but then later that night the "ink" had gone almost 4/6 of the phone. I thought it was nothing and it would clean up by tomorrow so I went to bed. The next morning I checked on my phone and I kept pressing the on button but that's when I knew it was on. everything on the phone worked except for that the screen was black and the liquid covered the screen so the touchscreen was out of order also.

My dad found out a few months later (I was scared to tell my dad) and he got really mad. The phone is not broken, the screen has just been overflown with this ink stuff.

What is happening and what should I do to clean it? Or should I just wait 11 months for a new phone? This iste helped me with my phone not starting so please help me! ;)
