Odd issue -- after flashing, phone reboots to fastboot and loses custom recovery.. topic

So, I had to replace my HTC One.

The new one is 1.55 -- I am still S-On.

Today I flashed CWM 6043 using fastboot after unlocking the bootloader through HTC.

I flashed SuperSU.

I attempted to flash two of the newer roms (InsertCoin and Renovate) because I wanted Sense 6.

After successfully going through the flash, the phone reboots and goes straight back to Fastboot. If I go into the Bootloader and try to go into Recovery, it just kicks me back to the bootloader. I can then use fastboot to reflash CWM 6043 again and do it all over.

Same thing.

Every time.

Thoughts?

Page Plus on custom roms. topic

I followed this guide to get Page Plus working great on my XT1031 (Boost Mobile) via stock Verizon 4.4.2 rom. But I do want to try other roms.
I flashed over Official CM11. I think it apply's some Boost Mobile settings as it detects as a XT1031 (as it should I guess). Calls and Text, do work. I had to enable Data Roaming to get 3G going. Seeing as Cyanogenmod 11 is multi carrier.What settings need edited or tweaked to get the right "Verizon or Page Plus" settings so it quit thinking I am roaming. How would I go about doing this? Or maybe getting it to detect as a XT1028 (which is Verizon).

Does anyone know if the devs will be able to add beats to the custom roms ? Or would they not be allowed to use it due to copyright crap ? Unless they make it a flashable zip and just list its for a new htc one not listing m7 or m8 ?

[Q] Video Mode on Custom rom topic

Hi every one,

I can't post y question directly on the the developer page (In my case NeatRom) (Why a 10 post limitation :crying:) so I post it here...

I've tried many custom roms (CM, Neat, Omni) but no one offers the possibility to use the samsung "video" color settings, so each color is very flashy and satured on my s2 i9100 with custom roms (except the siyah modified but it's a bit old) . Do you know one Rom that have this setting or a tip to re-enable it?

I also tried some apps to modify screen colors but these are laborious to use, full of ads...

Secondly: do you know how to overclock GPU on these custom roms ? I can do it with my Siyah very simply but I want to use a 4.4.2 rom, any apps to do it ? or any rom that possess a pre-installed tweaker ? All I'va downloaded on the store is useless or only support the CPU overclock and not the GPU.

Multi user crash on custom 4.4.2 roms (CM11, Omnirom) topic

Hello,

I've tried both nightly and snapshot versions of CM11 on my Nexus 10. I have also tried the nightly version of Omnirom.

All gave me problems with multi users: I've created 2 more users (one normal, one restricted), but when I tried to switch to one of the users, I got error messages of system apps crashing - launcher crashed, system UI crashed, etc.

Multi user work fine on stock 4.4.2 rom (rooted), I've also tried the deodexed stock rom published here, and it also work. But for some reason it doesn't work for me on CM11 or Omnirom...

Is this a known issue? Is there something I can do in order to make it work?
Can someone who uses these roms test it and tell me if you also have issues with multi users?

Any help would be appreciated!

Who agrees? Who dosent? With a nice fossil leather band for 10 bucks. Better or worse than pebble steel? I think better. Pebble steel has more bezil on bottom side, looks tacky. Anyone but a metal band for sw2?

There are already many questions posted on this subject but all the answers lead to the detail posts explaining ALL the procedure. I know the procedure to custom ROMs and I have done it multiple times on different phones.
I have successfully rooted my Sky Vega IM-760 but unable to install any custom recovery.
I have tried many methods but it gets stuck on every machine I ran it on. Please someone provide me precised help instead of complete tutorial. Sounds rough but I am fighting with it for two weeks still no luck.

Custom notification help topic

Hey XDA,

I get paged out for my job via a text message sent to my cell phone (a GS3). My company sends it as an email from noreply@companyname.com to mycellnumber@vzw.net or whatever the thing is. Anyway, because I'm receiving these messages as a sms from an email I cant set a custom notification sound for them, which I would really like to do. I've tried different roms and pretty much every sms app on the market. nothing I tried has worked, they always come in w/ just the stock ringtone, even though I've saved the email as it's own contact an set custom notifications thru the contacts app.

Here's the short and sweet. Went from No OS (by deleting my Internal storage by accident) to now having Viper One 5.8.0 currently on my phone. I had no knowledge of rooting 5 days ago but here I am, and after finally getting the rom successfully on my phone, it now gets as far as starting the process of setting up my phone and then reboots back to the HTC screen. I then decided to just revert back to Stock but my version can't be downgraded i guess? All i get is error code 155 which means i have the wrong version RUU apparently.

At this point I just need help getting my phone to work, I'll take help getting back to stock or Viper One functional...

I9506 Custom roms!! topic

Hey guys....
Just using for years now Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 with all kinds of customs roms and last week I've decided to win an auction for S4 I9506 (why not since it's the top performer compared to 9505 or not to say in the world) so managed to get it from Germany!
The thing is I haven't checked xda to see that there isn't any but any support for it, at least let's say YET?
I was 100% sure that I would be able to boot into CM in minutes as with all my samsungs....but....shall I wait or shall I give it away to take fully supported I9505?
Please give me your ideas....

Can we help somehow to achieve better attention from developers? Even donations, or what?

[Q] tried to install custom rom on a35 topic

I tried jelly blend v1.0 on my a35 Micromax bolt, i installed base ROM finely, but when i tried to install main ROM, then system hang up, i pull off the battery and again insert it, and again tried installation. Then further system hang up, then i further pull of the battery and inserted that, now i lost my fastboot mode and cwm recovery (previously installed recovery.img using fastboot mode) . When ever i put battery in my phone, it is automatically showing BOLT logo even i am not starting it manualy by pressing power button. I tried spreadtrum tool to flash STOCK ROM of A35 Bolt, but pc is not detecting my phone??? please help me to get back to my fastboot mode and recovery mode:(:(:(

[Q] Custom Android OS topic

Hi everyone,

So a small group of 6 people and myself are working on a project of getting an unbranded Android based phone to root and update from 4.1 to 4.2 and later.
Updates for a Samsung Galaxy phones for example are released by Samsung, HTC updates by HTC etc.
But an unbranded phone has no company providing updates. Thats where we want to come in.
Android is an Open-source OS so we can download and edit the code, correct?
Or is it a case of downloading the similar OS files for another similar phone?

We are open to trying anything suggested.

[HELP] Custom boot animation question topic

So I've decided that root isn't for me I played around with it and had fun but if I want to return my phone or anything it will need to be unrooted. I can unrooted it and factory reset it just find but the only problem is that the damn custom boot animation will not go away at all. I've looked around in exposed and literally can not find out how to hide it, while still rooted ofc, and for the life life of me I can not find a link to download the stock boot animation. Can someone please either link me, or be kind enough to tell me how to hide the custom and padlock with exposed and once I unrooted my phone will it stay hidden ? Also if I just update from 4.3 to kitkat will that just solve the issue itself? Or will I be left with the custom boot logo and no way to fix it

Custom Icon Background Transparency Problem topic

Hey all,

Hope you can provide some assistance. I got an all-white icon set, and modified a few .pngs in Photoshop to add color to match my theme. Backgrounds were transparent, displayed transparent in Photoshop, still opened as transparent after I exported them for web as png-24s with transparency preserved. However, as soon as I drag the icons over to the root of my storage card, my phone (HTC One) displays the once transparent backgrounds as black. What gives? I've tried using Photoshop 7, Photoshop CS6, and GIMP with the same results. I'm I missing something?

Last january i search custom rom for galaxy y. I found xduosv2.0 v3 and i flash it. after i update rc2 with iduos kernel my touchscreen is not working. I found stock rom and stock kernel and i flash it . when it boots up the touchscreen is working. This the same when i update firmwate using odin the touchscreen is not working .
Any fix for this? I cant use custom kernel in my duos .

Sorry if this has been covered, I didn't really see much on this. Per my request, my work just ordered me a Note 3 and of course I don't have the ability to leave it alone. :D I won't have it until next week but I assume it will have Jellybean on it still? Are there any stable roms that are based on KitKat for this phone? Any word on a formal release of KitKat? With the help of a better launcher, I might try and keep this one stock for now, but who knows.

Right now I have an S3 running the Beanstalk 4.4 rom based on 4.4.2 which I absolutely love. The phone is very fast and stable. As I mentioned, this is a work phone (which doubles as a personal phone) so I can't sacrifice stability since I rely on the phone every day. Another reason why the phone might stay stock if I can get the formal KitKat release on it...

Looking at case options as well. Anyone running this case?
