[Q] Question about installing stock android apps topic

I'm running 4.4.2 on a rooted Note 3.
I was wondering... if I downloaded stock android apps like... dialer/contacts, camera, gallery, clock... can I just freeze the stock Samsung ones via Titanium Backup and use the stock android ones as default? Would that work normally? Anything I should take into consideration?

A way to root android 4.3 topic

I havent tried this but it could be possible. you need unlocked bootloader for this. update to the new 4.3 update, then flash a custom kernel from 4.1.2(one with cwm), boot into recover mode and click reboot phone. it will say "phone not rooted, root now?" click yes and it shall put SU files in /xbin. flash back to stock 4.3 ernel and then download supersu or superuser from play store to manage root apps - dont need a app like this for root, permission is automatically accepted without this app so you dont nesseserily need it. this worked for my stock 4.1.2 ROM and in theory should work for 4.3. I havent tested it yet but because i havent updated yet but i will test in the next 1-2 hours when i get a chance :)

I would say HTC 8S is really a smart looking phone, but the major problem is apps can't be installed is the SD card where the phone has only 2GB internal memory where most surprisingly the operating system almost grasp all the space so that only 5/6 apps can be installed in this phone.
Can any developer or user can share a solution to overcome this f..king circumstance?
More importantly, I have seen there are few HTC windows phone has the facility to upgrade it operating system into Android. Does this facility applicable for HTC 8S????? If this can be possible please I request someone to come forward to share the procedures.

ROM Manager says CWM 6 is installed - but I boot into Android Recovery topic

So I used ROM manager to install CWM recovery 6.x.x.x on a brand new, fresh stock install. The app says that CWM is installed on my system. Yet when I boot into recovery it takes me to the Android System Recovery 3e. Any ideas what's going on?

[Q] Rooting from Android 4.3 topic

Hi,

I, after the long wait, foolishly updated my Xperia T to Android 4.3 (build 9.2.A.0.295). Before doing so I made a nandroid backup of my 4.1.2 install (can't remember what build). Only now do I realize this mistake as the current method for rooting requires you to start from a rooted Android 4.1.2 base. So this leaves me in a situation with a lot of questions that need answers.

Firstly, is there a back up technique that I can use (instead of nandroid) that doesn't require a rooted 4.3 device? And if so to what level does it backup (i.e what will I lose)? Or can I create a nandroid without a root? I would like to be able to use it as a safety net so that I don't lose everything if I screw something up.

If there is such a method I would like to root my device but I have been unable to find any instructions rooting from 4.3 for newbies like me. The current post by DaRk-LOrD just says "Install 4.1.2". How do I do that? Is it possible I can just skip downgrading and somehow go straight to installing CWM on 4.3 (I might be talking garbage, I don't know...)?

Also if I am to root I would like a way to get as close as possible to my current installation of Android 4.3 as possible (apps, app data, settings, etc.). How would I go about doing this? Maybe I install Android 4.1.2 from my nandroid I made before updating?

Also, does anyone know if it is likely we will be seeing a tool such as this one for Xperia T 4.3? Maybe if such a tool is in the works I should hold off for a bit longer.

I know these are a lot of question but I have been unable to find this information which is either relevant or applicable to my situation or what I find is just too complicated (steps are too broad and assume too much prior knowledge). If I have left out any information you need please don't hesitate to ask.

So I'm using the CM11 rom and eveytime my phone reboots it seems dalvik cache is wiped and android "updates" its really annoying since it takes time.

Any suggestions? I've tried googling the problen but found many unrelated threads to my problem so I though this would be the right place to ask.

On January 29, 2014, polymath257 posted an unofficial build of CyanogenMod 11 that he had compiled using Chillybean's instructions. I have now done the same thing, but with a newer build. I am merely a compiler, not a developer. All credit goes to @chillybean, Evervolv, and the CyanogenMod team. I also want to thank @polymath257 for helping me get started.

From my very limited testing, here's what I've been able to determine about what does and does not work.
Verizon CDMA works, but from what I can tell GSM does not (at least on my particular phone and SIM), even with a GSM patch applied. Camera doesn't work. Screenshots work. I am unable to test cellular data because I have it disabled on my plan. Further testing appreciated.

If a stable, fully functional daily driver is what you're looking for, this is NOT the ROM for you! In that case, I currently recommend Chillybean's unofficial CyanogenMod 10.1 with these settings. My build is intended for people who use an Incredible 2 as a secondary device and don't mind if certain things don't work. Indeed, Chilly's CM10.1 will be my daily driver until Kitkat becomes stable and fully functional for our phone, and I do not have the programming skill to make that happen.

Hello guys, i'm from Poland so sorry for my language. And this is the main reason of my problem. Because I've the Samsung galaxy s3 from AT&T . And my android version is 4.1.1. I want to go 4,3 but I can't because I need to be connected to AT&T network and for now I don't have that option . I've tried to use Samsung kies but it says that i've the newest version.. So how can i upgrade my version to 4.3 ? Is this even posibble ?

I unlocked and rooted using motochopper and motopocalypse. Apparently my Android SDK program was deleted from the computer so instead of waiting for it to download and update for 24 hours I was wondering if there was any way to use fastboot without having Android SDK installed?

I flash Stock Recovery of ATT, locked bootloader, Run RUU RUU_M7_UL_JB43_SENSE50_MR_Cingular_US_3.17.502.3_Radio_4A.19.3263.13_10.38j.1157.04_release_334235 _signed_2

After, i go to Setting > ATT software update > check for Update, but it say : "no update is available for your device at this time. your device will automatically check for an update within the next 48 hours"

Everyone please say to me how to update lastest firmware but not S-Off (my device S-ON).
