Urgent: E988 unrooted, stock rom, India, acting "weird" after boot topic

Previous help requests by me told how i removed my memory card from mobile as service centre guy told me about possible battery drain.

Today i was little bored so i put my MMC in phone, rebooted and went to settings. Suddenly i see weird settings style on my phone (like samsung galaxy types) Attachment 2653997

Again not to mention, i have stock unrooted rom so can't say of any modifications! But when i try to go to "about phone" section, it force stops. Attachment 2653988

Over and above, i never saw this font 'bykzongyulpen' earlier ever. Now i am seeing it Attachment 2653992

Due to my sata credit limitations, i checked '2g network only' in data connectivity. Now i cannot even go there.

[Q] How to use sony widgets after freezing stock xperia home? topic

I decided to use another launcher in place of the stock xperia one

so I also froze it with rom toolbox

In this case some of Sony provided widgets e.g. weather, disappear from the widgets menu or list in the app drawer

Is it possible to recover them and make them usable with other launchers somehow?

[Q] Question about installing stock android apps topic

I'm running 4.4.2 on a rooted Note 3.
I was wondering... if I downloaded stock android apps like... dialer/contacts, camera, gallery, clock... can I just freeze the stock Samsung ones via Titanium Backup and use the stock android ones as default? Would that work normally? Anything I should take into consideration?

Restore 8.4 to Stock topic

I followed this blog post line by line and it worked well.

The longest portion is simply waiting for the file to download. The free subscription took about an hour. In case the blog was taken down or moved I thought I'd put it here for future use.
1. Download Android 4.4.2 XXDNA1 Firmware for Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 T320 from the above list

2. Download Odin 3.07
3. Switch off your Tablet and boot Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 T320 into Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down and Power keys together until you get the warning message, now press Volume Up key to proceed to Download Mode..
4. Extract the downloaded Odin3.07 zip file and run the Odin3 v3.07.exe file as an administrator (Right click on the .exe file and click on Run as administrator)
5. Now connect your Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 T320 to your computer via USB cable
6. In Odin3 screen, you should see a COM Port number like “0:[COM7]” at ID:COM section and “Added!” text at the message box. This means your device has been detected by Odin3.
7. Make sure that, only the “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time” options are checked.
8. Now, extract the downloaded firmware zip file, you’ll find a firmware file with extension .tar.md5
9. In Odin screen, click on PDA button and select the firmware file with .tar.md5 extension (The firmware file look something like: T320XXDLJ5_T320ODDDLI7_INU.tar.md5)
9. Now, click on the Start button to begin the installation process, wait few moments.
10. Once completed, you would see “PASS!” message in ID:COM port having green background
Your Tablet should automatically reboot after completion. You can now disconnect your Tablet from computer
You are now un-rooted, running stock recovery and the Android 4.4.2

Hope this helps someone get all the information in one spot.
Oh yeah, Yes your Knox is still tripped. Don't think anybody has developed a fix or workaround for this yet.

Three UK Model - Flash to stock? topic

My Three model comes unlocked but is already behind when it comes to firmware. It also only has the APNs for Three (so I have to manually input for any other SIM I insert) and there's an annoying splash screen.

I'm not very well-read when it comes to flashing HTC devices but am I right in thinking that there is no way to flash stock firmware without S-off and bootloader unlock? One good thing about even the Sony handsets is that you can flash stock firmware without going through hell.

If I'm wrong could someone point me in the right direction. Not the end of the world if I can't 'stockify' but it would be nice :)

Why is the Verizon stock keyboard missing key function topic

I know about Swiftkey and Swype -among others, but looking for answer to stock keyboard question.

On other carriers it seems you can turn the settings cog to the comma (which I use a ton).

On Verizon note3 keyboard you cannot turn that to comma.. Option simply not there. So frustrating!

Have the Xperia Z1 with CM11. Wondering if I can get the stock camera app running, and if possible, how?

Don't like the stock camera app for CM11 since I don't think it's able to benefit the good camera of the Z1 to the full extent.

When attempting to use the standard camera app on my Nexus, I get this error. I've had a Nexus 5 since launch and had NO issues whatsoever with the camera until recently. No matter what I try to do, the camera app doesn't load. Not from the lockscreen, not from the app, etc.

What's odd is that I CAN use apps like camera zoom fx or the built in snapshot feature in the facebook app for example, and the camera works then. I can also use hangouts and I've verified the front facing camera works.

I've tried clearing cache, dalvik cache, force stop camera, disabling and re-enabling and no dice. A friend of mine postulated that it could be the HDR mode messing up. I DID have HDR active the last time the camera worked. But with no way of resetting the application/toggling the HDR switch (because the camera won't load to that point), I'm SOL.

Here is a screen cap video I took demonstrating the issue. Don't mind the artifacting at the start of the video, I'm not sure what caused that.

I have HTC One Stock Rom & am using the Stock Email App to connect & view my office email. The apps is good & works fine. But i am unable to find an Widget for this app to put on the Home Screen. Next i tried to browse the play store to get email widgets, but with no luck. Can you guys let me know, what is the default email app used in Stock ROM, and if there is any widget for the same in play store?

If not which the next best email app that i can use on HTC One. I rather like the stock email app, but anything near that will do but i need a widget.

Just got a friends Nexus and it was last used with 4.1.2 jellybean, I tried updating via OTA in settings but there is no update there and says my phone is up to date. I'd like at least 4.2.2 although 4.3 would do well :)

I've tried using methods of clearing data from the Google framework but that did not work.
Also I have only just installed everything i want on it as i had to factory reset.

Any help?

[Q] Can't Restore Stock Firmware topic

Hi

I have a problem for a few days. The story is that I installed Custom ROM and it stop asking for unlock code when I insert a new carrier sim card. Somebody told me to restore to Stock Firmware. I used "KDS Firmware Update" to push Stock Firmware from my PC but when the phone restart to install Stock Firmware, Custom Recovery Mode appear instead of Stock Recovery Mode. As the result, it failed to install.

I'm looking for a way to restore Stock Recovery Mode but I found nothing. Now, I'm asking for someone to tell me how to do it or give me the Stock Recovery Image zip for my LG Optimus G E973.
