Urgent: E988 unrooted, stock rom, India, acting "weird" after boot topic

Previous help requests by me told how i removed my memory card from mobile as service centre guy told me about possible battery drain.

Today i was little bored so i put my MMC in phone, rebooted and went to settings. Suddenly i see weird settings style on my phone (like samsung galaxy types) Attachment 2653997

Again not to mention, i have stock unrooted rom so can't say of any modifications! But when i try to go to "about phone" section, it force stops. Attachment 2653988

Over and above, i never saw this font 'bykzongyulpen' earlier ever. Now i am seeing it Attachment 2653992

Due to my sata credit limitations, i checked '2g network only' in data connectivity. Now i cannot even go there.

An urgent and immediate help will be appreciated!

my HTC amaze has been rooted for years, but somehow it recently got unrooted. busybox installer still shows it as rooted, but every other application i have that requires root tells me i need root access/superuser privileges. when i try to re-root with the zerg rush exploit, this is what happens:

Can anyone suggest a simple way to backup and restore while resetting the device?

I had to wipe the date on the phone and reset it, but lost several stuff including Nova settings, installed apps via apks from unknown sources, etc.

Any good app which simplifies the backup and restore option? Tried Mybackup pro and Helium before, but not good.

I do not want to root the phone to use Titanium backup though.

How can I put a Tab 3, 7 inch into download mode if the home button isnt working? All other buttins work as normal. I believe it may have something to do with the wrong firmware version.

Cant reset using adb as it isnt rooted.

1) download VZW 4.4.2 OTA (Blur_Version.140.45.5.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US .zip) to your phone's sd card (it will be in the download folder);

2) reboot into recovery; and

3) apply update from sdcard.

Just wondering if this is of any benefit. I used jcases method to keep root on kk but experienced some issues that required me to reflash the system. Now I am stuck unrooted on kk. I noticed that the write protection is still off. It returns (0) in adb. Could I use this to regain root somehow
