Wi-Fi tether no longer an option.. topic

Ok so I'm running a Rom that has the native Wi-Fi tether enabled but as soon as a device connects the signal drops (meaning I loose data on the phone)

I've noticed many many people after updating to kitkat having the same problem but no one has a solution.

Has anyone found a workaround to get Wi-Fi tether working again?

I'm using a sense based rom. Not sure if aosp rom would fix this issue.

G Flex WIFI Tether topic

This is not my app I had nothing to do with the development of this app. I simply found this a couple years ago and it used to work on my first RAZR and RAZR HD. So I figured what the hell let's try it. I'm on T-Mobile and have 2.5 gigs of wifi tether included in my account. I installed this and turned it on. And it works. I was and still am at 2.2 gigs used since I installed it and my son has been playing Forza Horizons thru XBox live on his 360. And the T-Mobile account app does not register any extra data used on the WiFi tether section. The Xbox even updated and the game did an update also.

Tether default route topic

Hi there,

I tend to use my phone for tethering while I'm on customer sites in order to gain access to my company's VPN service.

While im connected in this way, my phone propagates a second default route to my laptop which tends to take precedence and usually means I can't connect to hosts on the customer's network which aren't on the same network segment as my laptop.

This means I'm usually having to manually remove the default route, and manually add in static routes to the VPN host address.

Is there any way I can set the phone not to propagate the default route, and instead propagate manual fixed routes?

Wifi Tether 3.3 for Root just stopped working topic

I just recently upgraded my GS3 to the newest baseband and firmware. I also updated my current ROM (Dandroid).

Now when I try to use the WiFi Tether for Root app, it just says "Tethering Started with Errors". The app will then saying it is running but it's SSID will not show up on any of my devices.

Does anyone know what the problem is or have another app they use for WiFi tether?

Hi, I have a Verizon unlimited data plan. I'd like to get a phone that doesn't need to be rooted in order to tether to run my computer (FoxFi or whatever other one is recommended). Or is there a way I can buy a phone off of the sales site that already has FoxFi on it & it's ready to go? I asked a question similar to this yesterday & now can't find it. Bluetooth tether topic

l AM looking for help. Mostly just someone who has weeded out the Madness.
I have ASamsung Galaxy Note l0.1 2014 and Gear, I'd like to share my wifi, (NOT wireless Carrier;, e AT&T, Verizon) to my watch via Bluetooth. What App do i use? I've found navy guides forsharing Mobile Data , I've also tried Auto tether and |llama.

Hey can anyone recommend something similar to the title? I'm using CM 7.2 right now but i get some FC's using some of my apps. Instagram in particular doesn't like any of my CM 7.2 devices.

I know it's an older platform, I just wanted to know if something more stable like unbloated stock with wifi tether exists, thanks!

So I have Verizon and I still have the unlimited data plan. Not wanting to lose my unlimited data, I haven't upgraded my phone since I got it and I am still using my HTC Thunderbolt. Now Ithat phone is on its way out and I need to upgrade, but I need to upgrade to a phone that still allows me to tether via wifi and what not. So that's my question. What's the best route to go to be able to tether via wifi with the Moto X? ITethering via usb isn't really viable for me and my current situation, so I have to be able toconnect via wifi. I have read that kit kat apparently disables wifi tethering unless you are rooted. How true is this? How easy is it to root and get the ability to tether via wifi back? Would not upgrading to 4.4 be better?

[Q] Sprint Galaxy Note 3 rooted, unable to tether. topic

Hello all,

I will confess that I am an absolute noob. I have had my Sprint Galaxy Note 3 since November last year. I finally decided to go ahead and root my phone so that I could use the tether feature. I also like the idea of having control of my own device. I have been reading and reading, and reading on the forum and referencing information from a copy of the Android Hacker's Toolkit by Mr. Jason Tyler and Will Verduzco.. and I'm confused. The information is great however the vast majority of it is over my head.

I have used Chainfire's method for rooting my phone and have installed TWRP for the recovery, and have made a back-up. I have tried installing and using WiFi Tether by TopAppLoft and several other applications from Google Play. I am unable to get the wireless router to work.

What could I try in order to be able to use the WiFi router without having to pay the extra $ to Sprint?

Hey, I'm looking to get a Moto X (dev edition) and run it rooted on 4.4, my question is whether tethering works on this phone without issue? I currently use Wifi Tether Treve Mod, which I downloaded off the play store, but I no longer see it on there, so it got me worried.

This is my first post on XDA!

I installed CM 10.2 yesterday on my DNA and the built in tethering app is working great.. but its buried in the menus. I would really like to have it available on the pull down screen or quick menu. Is this available stock or would I need an apk customization?

Or is this available in ViperDNA or CM 11 ?

So yesterday was my 1st attempt at rooting. And after a couple hours i managed to get CM 10.2 on my evo 4g lte. My only issue is i cant get the wifi tether to work. My devices always show an authentication problem. Any ideas?

Hello, I have a T-Mobile GS3 with the official OTA 4.3. I'm rooted and Knox is removed. I was wondering can I flash the UVUEMJC tether hack with out flashing a different ROM? Also I hope this is posted in the right place.
