LTE option in which KDZ? D802 topic

I am on Indian D802 32 GB with Official Indian 4.4.2 KitKat ROM. I am travelling to a country where there are Band 40 and BAND 3 LTE networks. But in network config settings where we choose network mode, LG has hidden the option to select LTE.

So which Euro/SE Asian KDZ has that LTE option enabled?

Wi-Fi tether no longer an option.. topic

Ok so I'm running a Rom that has the native Wi-Fi tether enabled but as soon as a device connects the signal drops (meaning I loose data on the phone)

I've noticed many many people after updating to kitkat having the same problem but no one has a solution.

Has anyone found a workaround to get Wi-Fi tether working again?

I'm using a sense based rom. Not sure if aosp rom would fix this issue.

Gmail App with format option topic

Hi everyone,

I opened a website on my Nexus 5 today, selected everything (select all) and then sent it to my work email. I was expecting text only to arrive on my work Outlook however to my pleasant surprised email contained full formatting (as far as I can tell) including pictures between paragraphs.

That means Gmail app supports (send and receive) formatting (i.e. Bold, Italic, font, font size, etc). Don’t think this is any type of phone dependency.

My questing and request is, would it be possible for someone to modify Gmail app and add formatting option?

If I knew anything about developing I would have done this myself, unfortunately I don’t.

[Q] Best option for MDK GS4 replaced with MK2 topic

Hey guys,

Long time lurker looking for my best option here with my recent phone replacement. Accidentally cracked the screen on my rooted custom ROM MDK GS4 and ordered a replacement from Asurion not really thinking about the fact that I probably wouldn't get another MDK phone. Sure enough, I get an MK2 and return to having tons of bloatware and no KitKat.

Sadly, I prefer using my old phone with a broken screen over my new one. I haven't sent the broken one back yet. Do I have any options here? I've considered trying to swap the glass, but it looks like a pain and I'm not sure if they'd have an issue with me sending back the same phone with broken glass. I assume I can't easily swap any of the other hardware either to make the new phone MDK.

Any suggestions?

I also haven't messed with safestrap yet and really dislike 4.3 messaging app and such compared to 4.4, but once we get the OTA 4.4 update from Verizon, will the safestrap rooted 4.4 phone be similar to the custom ROMs I can get now on my MDK phone?

Apologies if these are stupid questions, but any help here would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Can anyone suggest a simple way to backup and restore while resetting the device?

I had to wipe the date on the phone and reset it, but lost several stuff including Nova settings, installed apps via apks from unknown sources, etc.

Any good app which simplifies the backup and restore option? Tried Mybackup pro and Helium before, but not good.

I do not want to root the phone to use Titanium backup though.

No LTE option? (Three UK) topic

Hi all

I've had a look around the forum and all posts on this subject relate to US versions of this problem.

Anyway, I don't live in a 4G area, but yesterday I happened to be in central London. But I had no 4G. I went into the settings and there was no 4G option, only GSM and WCDMA. I downloaded an app and forced it into 4G and it worked, although I only ever got 1 bar, but the data worked.

I called Three, they said I should send it back to HTC for repair! I said thanks but no thanks.

I bought my phone SIM free in the UK from Expansys, I checked the bootloader screen, it's a W7_UL (I believe the L means it's LTE enabled) and I've rooted it (no custom ROMS, just root). I suspect I don't have a 4G SIM, but I don't know how to find out. Only after researching this did I discover - to my horror and bafflement - that there is a version of the One without 4G. I was briefly worried I had managed to spend £400 on a lemon, but it seems I am able to use 4G if I force it.

Any ideas?

When I press the power button, I get a pop up that lets me change from ring to vibrate to no sound....let's me power off or turn airplane mode on/off.

But I used to have another option to reboot and then go into a choice of system or recovery. I seem to have lost that option.

How do I get the reboot option back?

I have a Verizon DE...4.2.2, rooted, unlocked, running TWRP recovery and of course superSU. I've reinstalled TWRP and superSU but that didn't bring the option back.

I barely use Twitter as it is, but with Themer installed, every time I install a new theme for Themer I get a notification to "Show off your theme!".

Please give us an option to disable this. I share my Themer Themes by, get this, SHOWING my phone to folks in person. I share Themer with everyone I know with an Android phone as it is.

Just one minor annoyance that needs an option to remove.

Boot loop without option to fix topic

Today I've tried to update the version of cm in my phone,from 10.1 to 10.2.
After doing that my phone entered a boot loop and I could see only the htc logo
I tried to clear cache,didnt help..
Now this is the situtation -
Htc one x,Unlocked, Hboot 1.36000.
I don't have any backup on my phone,I cant enter any file to the phone because the sd cant be mounted,adb dont recognize the phone.
When I try to flash boot or install zip with fastboot,I get an error - Failed <remote:not allowed>
and now after I tried all of the options I came here to ask for help..

I desperately need that exchange option. How to get it? Is there an stock email app that I can download / flash?

My phone is rooted with no custom recovery installed. Can I get away without a custom recovery?

[Q] Permanent Disable airplane mode option in Custom ROM topic

I'm working on permanently disabling airplane mode in a slightly customized ROM I'm working on. Essentially, I want nothing to change when a user clicks the airplane mode button.

This is on the Verizon Galaxy Tab 2 (sch-i705).

I'm hoping for a simple solution (i.e. deleting some module) that will disable the functionality behind airplane mode or adjust which radios toggle when airplane mode is enabled.

I'm not sure where to start - right now I'm slogging through an upacked system.img with no success, and haven't found anything in my xda/google searches. Ideas of what files I could remove or modify?

On my N7 when you go into the the advanced wifi settings there is an option to select which wifi band you want to connect too, 2.4ghz/5ghz, appartly this was removed by samsung with the 4.3 release from what some S3 threads are saying. Anyway to add this to the Note 3?

I'm using the last version of TeamCajica CM 10.2.
Since the version of the 01.01.2014 it seems possible to swap external and internal SD Card in the "advanced settings"
Unfortunatly, I can't find where is it....
If someone can help by giving the full path to access to this option because I find a copy screen in the thread of the ROM, but it doesn't help me (I use French translation of the Rom)

Is it just me or is there no setting to change the pixels on the stock camera app for Moto X? I hate the fact that each picture I take eatsup a little over 3MB.

No efs backup option in twrp? topic

After reading that i should definitely have a efs back up i read that twrp has option built in so i booted into twrp (2.6.3.3) went into backup option and its not there. Im currently running just rooted stock vs980,any help? Can i use the option that is in freegee app?
