[Q] don't disable lockscreen widgets on low memory devices topic

Is this patch applied to our Defy's CM? Link: review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/57572/ (please copy and paste. I'm not able to post links :()

I'm currently using TJKV's SlimKat most recent build and Torch is the only widget that I'm used to have in lockscreen, it's very useful. However, lockscreen widget is disabled when I activate the "low memory option" in Aero Kernel. Could someone request it in the development thread? I'm not able to post in there yet.

Thanks!

[Discuss] Memory Editing topic

Hi guys, i'm very new to programming but I am attempting to learn Java, since there is a lot of documentation, books and tutorials on that language.

I enjoy using memory editing programs in games because they are simple and most of the time all I want to do is cheat money/ammo/health etc. so they work perfectly fine.

I don't know how a memory editor is made or really how it works, but I wish to learn.

I was wondering - how do anti cheats detect memory editing programs apart from their process names, and how many options are there to edit memory? IS there only one way to edit a value or is there thousands of different ways you can do it?

[Q] Is it possible to increase internal memory topic

On my father Samsung Galaxy S2 was possible to increase the internal memory reducing the storage memory inserting a specific file in Odin as explained here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...y-app-t2538947.

Is it possible to do something similar in Xperia T, maybe creatyng a bigger system.sin?

Thanks

Memory error topic

Hello all,

I'm afraid I am new to all this so bear with me...

I am looking to find the statistical significance between two large netCDF data sets.

Firstly I've loaded the two files into python:

swh=netCDF4.Dataset('/data/cr1/jmitchel/Q0/swh/controlperiod/averages/swh_control_concat.nc', 'r')

swh_2050s=netCDF4.Dataset('/data/cr1/jmitchel/Q0/swh/2050s/averages/swh_2050s_concat.nc', 'r')

I have then isolated the variables I want to perform the pearson correlation on:

hs=swh.variables['hs']

hs_2050s=swh_2050s.variables['hs']

Here is the metadata for those files:

print hs
<type 'netCDF4.Variable'>
int16 hs(time, latitude, longitude)
standard_name: significant_height_of_wind_and_swell_waves
long_name: significant_wave_height
units: m
add_offset: 0.0
scale_factor: 0.002
_FillValue: -32767
missing_value: -32767
unlimited dimensions: time
current shape = (86400, 350, 227)

print hs_2050s
<type 'netCDF4.Variable'>
int16 hs(time, latitude, longitude)
standard_name: significant_height_of_wind_and_swell_waves
long_name: significant_wave_height
units: m
add_offset: 0.0
scale_factor: 0.002
_FillValue: -32767
missing_value: -32767
unlimited dimensions: time
current shape = (86400, 350, 227)

Then to perform the pearsons correlation:

from scipy.stats.stats import pearsonr

pearsonr(hs,hs_2050s)

I then get a memory error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
File "/usr/local/sci/lib/python2.7/site-packages/scipy/stats/stats.py", line 2409, in pearsonr
x = np.asarray(x)
File "/usr/local/sci/lib/python2.7/site-packages/numpy/core/numeric.py", line 321, in asarray
return array(a, dtype, copy=False, order=order)
MemoryError

This also happens when I try to create numpy arrays from the data.

Does anyone know how I can alleviate theses memory errors?

Cheers,

Jamie

[Q] Mounting internal memory in recovery topic

I successfully ported TWRP for my OT-6012X with almost all functions working but i have one problem. TWRP need /emmc (internal memory to store settings, etc) but I am unable to find method to mount internal memory because my device have no dedicated partition for internal memory but uses folder on of mmcblk0p8 (/data/media/) instead.

My NAND is EMMC and here are device emulators from android:

dev_mount sdcard /storage/sdcard0 emmc@fat /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/mtk-msdc.0/mmc_host
dev_mount sdcard2 /storage/sdcard1 auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.1 /devices/platform/mtk-msdc.1/mmc_host

But in recovery all I could mount is here, you will spot there is no any emulated drives :(

Code:

drwxr-xr-x    3 root    root          280 Mar 19 19:40 .
drwxr-xr-x    4 root    root            80 Mar 19 19:40 ..
drwxr-xr-x    2 root    root          200 Mar 19 19:40 by-num
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root    root            18 Mar 19 19:40 mmcblk0 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root    root            23 Mar 19 19:40 mmcblk0boot0 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0boot0
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root    root            23 Mar 19 19:40 mmcblk0boot1 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0boot1
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root    root            20 Mar 19 19:40 mmcblk0p1 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root    root            20 Mar 19 19:40 mmcblk0p2 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root    root            20 Mar 19 19:40 mmcblk0p3 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root    root            20 Mar 19 19:40 mmcblk0p4 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p4
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root    root            20 Mar 19 19:40 mmcblk0p5 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p5
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root    root            20 Mar 19 19:40 mmcblk0p6 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p6
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root    root            20 Mar 19 19:40 mmcblk0p7 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p7
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root    root            20 Mar 19 19:40 mmcblk0p8 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p8

Here is an idea: How about to create some script which will mount /data and create symlink /emmc -> /data/media/ just to get rid of error messages from TWRP which appears each time TWRP start (while trying to load/save config, etc...)

Question: How can i create script which will start automatic as TWRP load to mount and create that symbolic link? Is there any trick like init.d or so? Can i put my code in init.rc? Any suggestions?

[Q] Using some more internal memory, is it possible ? topic

As you can see most of the internal memory saved by system and cache is free.
System : 1.95 GB free of 2.65 (73% free)
Cache : 1.96 GB free of 1.99 GB (98% free)

Is there any way(preferably safe) to use at least some more from this wastage of space ?

I am using Samsung galaxy s4 gt-i9500, with cyanogenmod 11 20140317 nightly 4.4.2 KitKat With permissive selinux

[Help] Internal memory wiped: topic

Hey guys,
I was running stock rooted 4.1.2 with cwm so far on my n8000. As it was running slow i decided to install omni today. I downloaded the unofficial nightly and tried to install it through cwm. It turned out my recovery was old so it failed halfway with a status 7 error. I managed to install a new recovery through Odin and installed omni and pa gapps without any further problem. However my complete internal memory has been wiped. I data wiped as usual from cwm but this has never happened to me before.
Hope you guys can help me out.

Sent from my GT-N8000 using xda app-developers app

Internal memory almost full, no idea why topic

Also, a few months ago I had 5 gigs of space left, now 900mb... Did a complete whipe and started all over again, but still 900mb free memory. Is there a way I can delete everything, maybe go back to stock an start all over?

Thanks

Memory issue topic

Anyone here who has already been affected by this issue?:

http://www.cisco.com/web/about/doing...ss/memory.html

We operate a Cisco 1811/K9 at work and although it is almost never
restarted and runs on UPS power, I wonder what the risks are.

"Although the majority of Cisco products using these components are
experiencing field failure rates below expected levels" does not tell
me much, as I have no idea what expected levels are.

Is there any significant chance that our 1811 will not survive the
next powercycle?

I figured out what is causing this. Each pass through the loop it does:

self.tools = Tool.objects.filter(ip__isnull=False)

And that is what is causing the memory consumption. If I move that
outside the loop and just do that once the memory issue goes away. Now
I need to figure out why this is happening and how to prevent it as
they do want to query the db each pass through the loop in case it has
been updated.

Apparently the object returned by that call is immutable as if I look
at id(self.tools) each pass through the loop, it is different. Is
there some way I can recover that memory?

Interesting. So the next thing to do is to look into the
implementation of that. Does it allocate database resources and not
free them? Does it have internal reference loops?

Something to try: Put an explicit gc.collect() call into the loop. If
that solves your problem, you have a refloop somewhere (and you can
properly fix it by explicitly breaking the loop). If that keeps
returning large numbers, and especially if it populates gc.garbage
with a whole lot of stuff, then you definitely have refloops.

Not sure what mutability has to do with that. The changing id() simply
means you're getting back a new object every time. Normally, as soon
as your rebind self.tools to the new object, the old object will be
disposed of - unless it has refloops, which is what I mentioned in the
previous post, or has some other external reference.
