[Q] S3 (i9300) Encryption Failed topic

Hi guys,
My friend gave me her S3 to fix because there was a problem with it. She said that she was on YouTube when it froze, she took the battery out and when it turned back on, a message came up saying "Encryption Failed. Unable to complete encryption due to interruption. Perform factory data reset (erasing all your data) before use....." There's a button that says "Reset Device" but when I press it, it doesn't do anything. She has NOT rooted her device or tampered with it at all, nor has she tried to encrypt her data, so this is quite unusual. I tried to put it into Recovery Mode so I could perform a factory reset by holding power, Vol Up and Home. As I hold these buttons, a message pops up at the bottom of the screen saying "Device storage is full. Delete some items", although my friend says that she had recently factory reset her phone and there isn't much stuff on her phone. The phone then restarts as it should. It shows the android with the spinning shape thing in his stomach. Then it stops and the phone restarts again back to the "Encryption Failed" screen. I have tried many times to get into Recovery Mode but it wont work. I researched online and found that others say that they also cannot access stock recovery but can access TWRP and CWM. I can get into Download Mode, so it thought that maybe I could try to install one of the two recovery modes. I first tried to root the device using Odin3, however, it keeps failing.

Problems on I9300 after updating to CM SNAPSHOT M4 topic

Hey guys,

I have been having problems with some CyanogenMod roms lately. My I9300 was working perfectly using one of the nightly CM 11 ROM's released in early March, until I installed the latest M Snapshot. From there on in my phone has gone insane.

From time to time, during the day the phone gets blocked without any apparent reason. My first thought was that has something to do with the RAM, maybe its getting low somehow, but no, that wasn't the case. Most of the time I have at least 160-180 free ram, usually more than that.

Anyway, then I thought maybe the problem was the installed ROM, so I did a re-install but still,with no effect. Then I downloaded 17th of march nightly ROM, wiped clean the cache and reset the phone. Still with no effect.

My next solution is: Download the newest nightly, currently 18th of March, install the latest Clockworkmod Recovery, which is 6.0.4.6., reset and wipe the phone again (backing of course) and install the latest ROM. What do you guys think?

Also, does anyone else has this problem after installing the latest M-Snapshot from the CM download page.

[Q] Problems with flashing my I9300 topic

Hello guys,
my name is Raphnika and I am complete new to this.
I've tried to flash my Samsung S3 with a custom ROM like the Pacman one.(KK 4.4 or something like that).
I was not able to install it on my device so I tried the Android Revolution HD ROM and that worked for me fine.
It seems like I am not able to flash any KK ROMs to my S3. I keep getting a Status 7 Error...
I googled it and tried many solutions but none of them worked. It might be to the fact that I am a complete noob to this.

I hope you guys can help me!

Hi all,

I flashed SlimKat 4.4.2 latest build 3, ocasionaly, i get about 10GB free after full wipe and instaling stock samsung rom, but after installing i get only 2,5GB user available out of 11GB dedicated, i have done full wipe of everything, i experienced that on Temasek's build also.

Does 4.4 use so much space?

Please help if you can.

I have maybe destroyed my s3 i9300 after wrong flash. All what I see now after power on is (picture1) and can´t go to recovery mode. I can go in download mode (picture2 and 3) but if I can flash via odin stock firmware now, that stop on "setup connection" and nothing more. I can´t see on xda or on google how I can try unbrick my phone via Multiple Firmware with PIT file if is possible. But I mean is mainboard death.

i9300 Stuck on Boot Screen topic

Hi, have a i9300. When my phone starts up i got the samsung logo, it plays the samsung boot sound, but cuts it half way, and remains like that endlessly, flashing but never booting up.

I tried Flashing the partition, and also the firmware but it didnt work. Any ideas i could use?

[Q] Not registered on network I9300 4.3 topic

After I flashed SEE-I9300XXUGMK6 (Android 4.3 Official) on GT-I9300 i cant make phone calls,it keeps saying Not registered on network.I have tried to flash patched modems but it is still not working,after i tried to patch using ARIZA the previous error dissapeared and it keep showing the circle like the picture i attached below.(P.S:I think my IMEI hasnt changed but the serial number yes).I would appreciate your help.

Mine is an i9300 rooted and running 4.1.2
I have downloaded the carbon rom 4.4,2 meant for i9300 and also the gapps to the phone' sd card,
Can I upgrade the phone via mobile Odin pro only? I don't have access to a PC or a mac.
Or is it better to go via CMWM?
Don't want to mess up my only phone:)

Hi everyone ! (I'm sorry if i post in the wrong thread and please move my post if is need where is ok. Thanks)
I'm using Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 with 4.3 (GNA7) and i have a problem with status bar when i'm in a call he is auto touching and activating GPS, Wireless and sometimes changes my hour settings. I mention that I have some bigger ears than else and maybe this is the problem. Can anyone tell me how to block status bar when i am in a call or something like this? Thanks and forgive my bad English !

Where do i find official firmwares? The threads on XDA that had links now don't work and i can't download from sammobile? What is going on?

[Q] S3 I9300 Stuck on safe mode topic

Hi friends, after a lot of research and web searching i'm totally out of ideas and options :(

The problem: My S3 I9300 reboot in safe mode every time, is has been doing it since the past sunday. Another tip is that the volume buton down seems not work but only in CM Recovery or in the running software itselfs, it work correctly in donwload mode since i can reboot by presin the buton down. Another interesting fact is thath when I reboot the phone it start the led until it comes the Galaxy S 3 Logo (by presing the button down it power downs the led).

The posible solutions:

• Reboot
  Reboot after take the battery for a few minutes
  Reboot after take the battery out for hours
  Flash Custom Cyanogenmod
  Flash back stock s3 Jelly Bean (various ROM)
  Try to press volume up, volume down, menu capacitive, back capacitive keys and nothing.
  Take it to technical service (every one say it was software, but want to charge me a lot of money, talking about an hardware box "especially for flash samsungs")

I have done all the things that I expose before and possible anothers that I don't remember right now, and nothing works, it continuos rebooting into safe mode.

I have too read a lot on google and here and any of the posted solutions works for me.

Do anyone know how to solve this?

I9300 stuck in start screen topic

Hello,

Unfortunately I've had some huge issues with the galaxy s3.
First my ROM stopped working properly and was rebooting every 2 secs after I open it.
I couldn't format /sdcard because that caused a reboot to and everything of my data was in the path "/0/" which was very weird.
So I could not get any rom to install on the phone anymore in CWM, this looked like it was thanks too the way it was first flashed.
So I tried flashing others, I tried flashing with another kernel, still couldn't get it working.
So I tried flashing with ODIN, no different result.
Then from here I tried re-partitioning.. Unfortunately this brought to where I am at the moment which is, I can get in the download recovery I can get the screen Samsung Galaxy S3 gt-i9300, but I can NOT get into the CWM of siyah kernel I just flashed with odin..
Anyone any suggestions?
Really want to fix this...

[Q] Glass Theme on ROM MIUI v5 by iHackers /S3 i9300 topic

Hello,
I've downloaded the rom MIUI v5 by iHackers (Aroma Package) and installed all the apps with the glass theme (transparent) but some of them didnt work such as whatsapp (it says that this version of whatsapp had expire a couple of days ago), hangouts, play store, dropbox, etc... (didnt work at all). So, i decided to update this app so they work and everything works perfect except the glass (transparent) theme was gone on this apps but still works in other apps such as gmail, twitter, etc.

How can i do to make this apps back to glass theme too? thanks in advanced for the help!

[R&D] How i9300 bootloader loads the kernel topic

I understand this would be better suited in the development forum but I can't post there yet (<10 posts).

How does the i9300's bootloader boot the kernel? Is it something like (the equivelant of in its bootloader, this is grub)

I want to have multiple kernels on the device (one custom android kernel, one completely different (FreeBSD) kernel) and was wondering if I could have some means of choosing or if I'd need to have both kernels and then in the recovery have a command to copy it to zImage or something similar.
