is it safe to mount the internal memory via cwf even after rooting the phone???...do i have to repeat the rooting process to mount it again or i can just go to cwf and safely mount it???

i'll appreciate if you answer...its my first time to root my phone and Im afraid to brick it....

i have question that bothered me now and then.

how do you mount internal storage in pc. for example i wipe out everything, including internal storage (read as sd ext in recovery), evrytime i go in to recovery pick mount usb. it doesnt show any activities in my windows explorer. i go to my computer --> properties --> device manager there is icon nexus 5 with yellow warning on it. try to update driver but return in fail "windows was unable to instal nexus 5"

is there because linux partition on internal storage? so windows cannot load it? or i got wrong version of "usb driver"? or do you have better method? i'd like to know :)

now everytime i'm flashing rom wipe all data + cache + sd ext, reboot system, after to home screen or my device is on, my pc can transfer files, after done with transferring i reboot to recovery again and then apply rom :eek:

On my father Samsung Galaxy S2 was possible to increase the internal memory reducing the storage memory inserting a specific file in Odin as explained here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...y-app-t2538947.

Is it possible to do something similar in Xperia T, maybe creatyng a bigger system.sin?

[Q] Mounting internal memory in recovery topic

I successfully ported TWRP for my OT-6012X with almost all functions working but i have one problem. TWRP need /emmc (internal memory to store settings, etc) but I am unable to find method to mount internal memory because my device have no dedicated partition for internal memory but uses folder on of mmcblk0p8 (/data/media/) instead.

My NAND is EMMC and here are device emulators from android:

dev_mount sdcard /storage/sdcard0 emmc@fat /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/mtk-msdc.0/mmc_host
dev_mount sdcard2 /storage/sdcard1 auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.1 /devices/platform/mtk-msdc.1/mmc_host

But in recovery all I could mount is here, you will spot there is no any emulated drives :(

Here is an idea: How about to create some script which will mount /data and create symlink /emmc -> /data/media/ just to get rid of error messages from TWRP which appears each time TWRP start (while trying to load/save config, etc...)

Question: How can i create script which will start automatic as TWRP load to mount and create that symbolic link? Is there any trick like init.d or so? Can i put my code in init.rc? Any suggestions?

hii recently installed Mv5 on to my mb860 device.
while formatting the internal memory storage unfortunately my PC restarted due power issues
after that i cant able to acces internal storage.
tried mounting n formatting in recovery.
changed/swapped internal/external storage in vold.fstab
spent 2days searching for solution but failed in fixing this problem:crying:

As you can see most of the internal memory saved by system and cache is free.
System : 1.95 GB free of 2.65 (73% free)
Cache : 1.96 GB free of 1.99 GB (98% free)

Is there any way(preferably safe) to use at least some more from this wastage of space ?

I got a HTC One XL with a defect Screen + Touchscreen. I can turn it on and off but cant log in because of the defect touchscreen.

Is there a possibility to read the internal storage? Or to remotely control the phone over my laptop, so I can log in and use it as storage device?

[Help] Internal memory wiped: topic

Hey guys,
I was running stock rooted 4.1.2 with cwm so far on my n8000. As it was running slow i decided to install omni today. I downloaded the unofficial nightly and tried to install it through cwm. It turned out my recovery was old so it failed halfway with a status 7 error. I managed to install a new recovery through Odin and installed omni and pa gapps without any further problem. However my complete internal memory has been wiped. I data wiped as usual from cwm but this has never happened to me before.
Hope you guys can help me out.

Internal memory almost full, no idea why topic

Hi, I have a s3 international version, rooted and cm11 on it. My internal memory is almost full and I can't seem to move apps to external sd card. Also, a few months ago I had 5 gigs of space left, now 900mb... Did a complete whipe and started all over again, but still 900mb free memory. Is there a way I can delete everything, maybe go back to stock an start all over?

I flashed SlimKat 4.4.2 latest build 3, ocasionaly, i get about 10GB free after full wipe and instaling stock samsung rom, but after installing i get only 2,5GB user available out of 11GB dedicated, i have done full wipe of everything, i experienced that on Temasek's build also.

Does 4.4 use so much space?

Please help if you can.

Hello, I have downloaded and installed the latest Cm11 and for some reason I am not longer able to use my internal sdcard. I can see and use the external sd but not the internal one. I just have the phone with 2Gb for apps and nothing else, unless I put the external sd.
I saw the partition on via parted is a fat32, but can mount nor format it on CWM recovery nor on my PC. At the end of the day I lost 12Gb of memory on my phone. Is there any way to remove and reformat the UMS partition (12Gb) with parted or any other application without having to put the stock ROM back? I also try Aparted application but is not able to see the partition at all.
BTW I would like to have 8Gb for apps and 8 Gb on my internal sd card, but I really do not know how to do it with Odin without bricking my phone. Any guidance on this? I want to keep using CM11 of course but could not find the md5 files to be used with Odin for CM11.
Any help will be much appreciated.

[Q] Accidentally wiped internal storage - cannot adb because driver won't install topic

Just got my LG G2. I rooted it and flashed a custom recovery and then wiped everything on the internal SD card. No biggie, I'll just adb sideload a rom. However, when I type in "adb devices" it says "list of devices attached" and then nothing is listed.

Device manager shows "g2" with an exclamation point. Following rooting steps I loaded the LGUnitedMobileDriver blah blah 3.10.exe and it installed correctly. I even tried it again, but I cannot get the g2 with exclamation point to go away. The computer is Windows 8 64 bit, and I tried it on my laptop which is Win 8.1 64 bit.

I also pointed the driver search to the LG Mobile United Driver folder and it couldn't install.

Is there a .zip file of the driver I can point to? I can't seem to find one and I need my phone :(

Can i make something like partition on internal storage? i have i9300 16GB internal and it woyld me nice to make 2-3 partition like C, D, E for games, apps, photo. Or game and apps, photo, rest and maybe protect before changing roms. I liek to change roms but its so bored installing all the times the same apps.
Also i want to buy mini sd card but waiting for answer bcs i dont know what to buy and ill install every apps and game on sd card so before change rom ill still have on sd card.
