TA Partition and flashing history. topic

Did anyone noticed that in the TA partition it is stored every firmware flash that the device took?

For example in my TA backup took when i rooted the .534 to flash the rooted 4.4 i have:

Quote:

ÿÿ« ç Áéø;ÿÿÿÿNEW_VERSION: erased_user_data:true, variant:user, s1boot_version:1270-3115 S1_Boot_MSM8974_LA1.0_56-A, cdf_version:1276-4321_R2A, fs_version:EURO-LTE_14.1.G.1.518, sw_version:1274-8313_14.1.G.1.518

NEW_VERSION: erased_user_data:false, variant:user, s1boot_version:1270-3115 S1_Boot_MSM8974_Rhine1.2_LA1.04_12, cdf_version:1276-5833_R5C, fs_version:EURO-LTE_14.3.A.0.681, sw_version:1274-8313_14.3.A.0.681
NEW_VERSION: erased_user_data:true, variant:user, s1boot_version:1270-3115 S1_Boot_MSM8974_LA1.0_67, cdf_version:1276-4314_R2A, fs_version:EURO-LTE_14.1.G.1.534, sw_version:1274-8313_14.1.G.1.534

This means that if i unlock the device and then restore ta for warranty purposes sony will see all history of flashed software along the phone's life, in this case that i flashed another region's firmware.

[Q] [Help] system partition size topic

Welcome. Sorry for bad English. I have the following problem: I installed android 4.4, as we know without gapps. everything stable so I wanted to install gapps. Root, TWRP, all without problems. the problem began when installing gapps. information about system memory (not enough memory on system partition). I tried all versions gapps (full, mini, micro). all don't work. I have a few mods to install so I need to increase the size of the system partition. I found some information how to do it on other phones , but not for our P6. I hope for your unfailing help!

[GUIDE] FIX: There is no PIT Partition topic

This is a guide for those who are experiencing the problem 'There is no Pit Partition' while flashing with Odin. This problem may be caused because of a faulty USB/micro USB port, USB cable which results in connection problems during flashing. So first of all one should understand this process is Extremely Risky and should proceed only if its that much necessary.

For this process what you need is a .PIT file for Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 and the original STOCK firmware. PIT (Partition Information Table) files provide information about where each partitions are to be flashed, so an improper PIT file will brick your phone permanently.

PIT file for Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is provided in the attachment, and extract the .pit from the rar.

Follow these steps :

1. Run Odin with Administrator Privileges. Hope everyone is familiar with using Odin or See this
2.Connect your Galaxy Grand Duos I9082 inn Download Mode (HOLD Volume Down+Home Button+Power) and see phone gets detected by Odin.
3. Click on the PIT Button in Odin and select the .pit file you have downloaded.
4. Click on PDA, and Browse for the original Stock Firmware File of Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082.
5. Ensure that The Checkboxes Auto Reboot, Re-Partition, F. Reset Time are checked.

See This:
Attachment 2597236

6. Now Click Start
7. Wait for the process to complete, keep the phone untouched until you see PASS.
8. Switch ON the phone and Play!!

As this process is completely risky, DO THIS ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. DO IT IN YOUR OWN RISK!

Good Luck!!:good::good:

[Q]What exactly is TA partition and when does it change? topic

Hello everyone, I did my best to help a few people in Q&A section, but now, I have a few questions myself, all of them, regarding mysterious TA partition.

My C1905 came out of the box with branded 15.1.C.2.8 firmware. One of the first things I did after rooting the device was backing up my TA partition, knowing that I will sooner or later unlock the bootloader. However, I then cross-flashed unbranded C2005 15.2.A.2.5 firmware. My questions are:

1)Do I need to backup TA partition again on a new firmware to be able to relock my bootloader without changing it? Does the TA partition vary between firmwares?

2)Will changing my firmware again to official 4.2.2 for C1905 (which should be released within 2 months) require my to back it up again? Is the C2005's TA partition different than C1905's?

3)Just out of curiousity, what exactly does the TA partition contain? From what I've read, it stores unique "DRM keys", but that doesn't tell me much. Are these keys linked with any hardware (like - for comparison - Samsung's "EFS" folder stores IMEI, MAC adress product code etc and without it, phone has very limited capabilities), or is it just more like "locked bootloader certificate"?

I just want to clear that up, thanks in advance for answering.

XPERIA M C1905 TA partition topic

So I unlocked my C1905's bootloader using sony's method but not long after I dropped it in a puddle, it was then I needed to relock the bootloader so it could be fixed. Since flashtool cant relock it and I used sony's method I have no backup of the ta partition. Would anyone be willing to upload or give me a link to one?

[Q] Wrong data partition size topic

Hey guys!

I'm coming to you at the end of a loooong way after trying to upgrade to KitKat.

I started the upgrade to 4.4, on the go, and quite confident. What a mistake ...
The upgrade failed, and my device got bricked. Fortunately, I had the recovery partition. Unfortunately, I destroyed the recovery partition by mistake...
I finally succeed to fix the things, but I have no idea how exactly I did it (I just tried the things as they were coming, messing around with partitions and switching from tutorial to tutorial),
Anyway, I made it.

This was 2 months ago ... then time passed, and today I got a message "no space left on device". Hm, weird. I check and oh damn, my SD card only had 5GB on it ...!!

It looks like I've loaded the *GB version partition scheme at some point ... or just wrongly formatted the partitions ... or I don't know.
I've tried to check using fdisk, but it doesn't help me much.

I also tried some tools like "Partition table" but I still can't find the missing 10GB. it seems like they're just unpartitioned, but not even recognised as it ...

Did anyone ever had this issue? Any process to fix it? Or at least any way to rollback to the original partition scheme.

Many thanks!
Best,

[Q] Mounting NTFS partition fails. topic

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (n900a).

I was able to attach external hard drives formated with ntfs filesystem to my previous phone the At&t Note 2 (SGH-i317) without difficulty. Using an OTG cable after installing Paragon ntfs & hps+. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....mounter&hl=en

I have just recently upgraded to the n900a and I have discovered that while Paragon ntfs/hps+ driver can see ntfs drives, it cannot mount them. So I installed another application called Roehsoft's Partition toolkit https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...t.ptk.sd&hl=en which also has the ability to see ntfs/hps filesystems.

Roehsoft's partition toolkit immediately sees the drive but when I attempt to mount it gives me the following error message.

ERROR; ntfs-3g-mount: mount failed: Permission denied

Is this caused by Knox or SELinux kernel enforcing?

I suspect it's the later because search results seem to point to Linux issues.

Can anyone help?

Partition phone to use /data/media scheme topic

So, I gave my sister a hand me down i777, it has CM10.2 installed on it... She constantly gets notified that 'Storage is low", this is referring to /data probably... On newer phones, ones that normally shipped with ICS and newer, they don't use two partitions for /data and /sdcard, because you might have tons of space available on one but not the other, and you won't be able to utilize it, rather, they ONLY have a /data partition, and user content instead goes in /data/media. This way, app installs go on the same technical patition as photos or videos... Anywho, this current setup is a real limitation on how many apps she can install, I suppose there's some apps2sd crap I could do, but she doesn't actually have an external SD, and there's TONS of space on the built in '/sdcard"

TL;DR: Can I switch the i777 to a '/data/media' partition layout instead of the old '/data, /sdcard/ layout?

[KFSOWI] Does anyone need a zipped copy of any partition? topic

If anyone needs a zipped copy of any partition of the KFSOWI? If so, please just ask, and I'll get right to it. (If this is in the wrong section I apologize and please move it to the correct area if so)

[Q] /data partition size? topic

Hi all, could you please tell me the /data partition size on Samsung Galaxy Note 3? You can check it just in rooted devices. You can do it, for example, executing "df -ha" in a terminal emulator.

Thanks and regards.

Problem with the partition table topic

Hi all....
Today i was trying to flash the latest firmware for my i9506 (I9506XXUBNA2).
All flashing went fine...until it reaches the "Hidden" partition.
So....a big FAIL appears.
I was facing the same problem when i flashed the France(Orange) 4.3 firmware but then the problem was solved by flashing Philz recovery and rebooted.
Now it doesn`t work anymore...it gets stuck at booting animation.
Any solution for this?Maybe a .pit file will solve the problem?
Thank you!
