I have a Galaxy S4 that is flashed to Verizon Prepaid (originally U.S Cellular) I am trying to send pictures and files, like songs to and from my computer, but when I plug my phone into the laptop I hear a "bing" but nothing comes up. On previous smarthphones I've had, on the phone it would give me options to use as a disk drive ( where I could upload or download files to my phone) But I am not getting anything. I am new to the Galaxy series so I am not sure if its a setting or if its because its a flashed phone. Also I was trying to use the Samsung Kies, but (after I installed the program) I'd plug my phone into the laptop but it would say device not supported. I am guessing because it's flashed ( it doesn't recognize it as a Galaxy S4 ) Will the Samsung Kies not work on a Flashed phone?
Hi. I had bootloader unlocked while I had android 4.3 without any problem but PC Companion didn't let me install 4.4.2 with bootloader unlocked so I had to relock it. After that I installed KitKat without any problem and have tried to unlock bootloader again doing same steps as before but unsuccesfull. The message I get was something like "your device is already rooted" but is not. Also the bootloader is locked for sure. What can I do to sort this out?
Hi people first time poster. i have a seriuos problem here , since i am e noob in the root things and i dont kow wha to do i have rooted my galaxy note 8 with framaroot jus to use a mouse and keyboard emulator no to do anyhing technical or some ROM things and then i " regretfully" have updated the device to jelly bean 4.2.2 and now i am lost im not rooted and though i have the supersu app installed and stuck , it cannot be uninstalled. i have ried to use root manager to remove the file from inside , it tells me it has been removed however it is not also it cannot be opened it tels me " there is not SU binary installed , and superSU canot install it , this is a problem" tried to re-root the devise again , downloaded the latest framaroot . i doesnt work and tells me " failed ry anoher exploit if available" all of herm are giving me the same thing
so now what to do
for who is going o help , please DUMB i down alitle for me as im not familliar with abbriviation of android
I have an unbranded US C6806 purchased directly from the Sony Store Online, and I have unlocked the bootloader in the past, and relocked it.
But now, any attempt to unlock the bootloader is met with "FAILED: command did not succeed" (Whether initiated by fastboot.exe in the command line or Flashtool)

I am running a fully updated Windows 7 x64 laptop, and have tried.
Disabling UAC and the antivirus Using MSconfig to reboot the computer with the minimum drivers Safe Mode (Wouldn't get past <waiting on device>)
The only thing that I can think of trying next is dusting off an old XP laptop and trying with that.
BTW fastboot getvar version comes back with 0.5 like it always has.
My HTC One max cannot connect on the WIFI at my home after I updated to 4.4.2. At first I can connect when I was on 4.3 then I update it and successfully installed. The problem turned out when I reset my phone and suddenly I cannot connect to my WIFI anymore, on my office it can cannot and only in my house cannot. Any idea how it can be fixed?
i'm using moto g 4.4 kitkat and just started to root the device. i was trying to install the cw recovery. After flash the img file and press recovery button in fastboot . my phone just reboot to homescreen and can not get into recovery. please help. Thanks
I have my USB 3.0 External Hard Drive plug it in the USB 3.0 port, and i cannot change anything on it with a File Manger, for some reason it is Read only, can you please help me with that Mad Catz.
I download allot and i need the Apps to download it strait to my External Hard Drive, whats te point of using a External Hard Drive if i cannot change anything on it.
And why can i not plug the USB 3.0 External Hard Drive plug it in the USB 3.0 port, and plug a USB 2.0 stick in the USB 2.0 port at the same time?
This problem is not with my cheap MeLE M9 Android TV BOX.
And yes i have installed the latest Firmware 0202 and also have rooted it.
Used this thread to help me unlock my bootloader last night. Temprooted (just shows wallpaper and status bar, no unlock circle), then I ran rumrunner and it worked perfectly. Bootloader shows "Tampered Unlocked S-OFF". But trying to reboot into the stock ROM didn't work anymore. Just got to the same temproot screen (locked wallpaper basically). So I was forced to go forward and flash aftermarket ROMs (which I planned on doing later anyway). I flashed TWRP and then installed various ROMs. Had nothing but problems. Some woudln't pass the splash screen and others would load up, but never give me any cell service. So now I'm on the stock rooted deodexed ROM and I still have no service. Other than that, everything works fine. Phone boots up rather quickly and connects to WiFi fine. But no service! I tried loading the radios in the second post here. They installed fine, but no change.

Situation: I was surfing the internet and the phone suddenly freeze. I thought i just a normal lag, but i waited too long and pulled out the battery. Reattached battery and try to switch it on, but there's only a logo appeared and it off and on over and over again. I've tried to go to recovery but failed! Hi, I downgraded my S4 from NA4 to MK8, and I rooted it. After that, I installed KNOX, and now I can't use it because it simply doesn't run... I'm able to type password, but then "KNOX stopped working"... How can I run this, or how can I uninstall KNOX? Maybe I should first install KNOX and then root phone? Or don't accept KNOX blocking while rooting?
E: Also, I have installed floating window mod, so I modified some system files, maybe this is why KNOX don't work?

I have unlocked the bootloader successfully but i cannot enter the recovery mode to root the device. When i try to enter in recovery mod, only a black screen appears. Can anyone help me on this?
Ok After updating from 4.3 to 4.4.2 using a method (I'll post a link when I get home) that basically required me to flash over t mobile n9005 firmware onto my phone (I use Rogers n900w8 canadian) My phone is rooted and I've searched high and low for a solution but to no avail I can provide any more information if needed
The problem is that I can send mms messages but I can't receive them
I've changed the apn several times according to sever guides most of which are right on the Rogers website THIS IS NOT AN APN ISSUE because I can still send them no problem If it was an app issue I would get a message saying that the message was unable to send

(Cannot remove battery - phone can not be opened=battery is not removaable) - Connect to Windows - Windows popup message for a device connected ! - Browse... choose driver for Win7,64bit,..... What I tried to troubleshoot: --------------------------------- - Used USBDeview.exe (64 bit), runned as administrator. I inserted my microsim card into the machiine and connected to Wifi. However it did not automatically download carrier's mobile network setting as a lot webpages described. So I tried to input APN settings manually. But as soon as I input everything and hit save, it went back to the original APN setting window without showing the newly added APN EVEN IF I selected Save.
Had this phone for about 1 week now. Everything been fine until today. I tried to take a few pictures, but I couldn't. Received an a pop up with "Cannot connect to camera" I'm not sure what's causing this issue, I cleared the data/cache on it and still occurs. Is there any solution to this issue? Thank you.
Of all the things I have screwed up, I can't believe my first post asking for help is this one. I have been rooting and installing custom ROM's since the EVO. Always found the help I needed in someone else' thread. But this has me stumped.
I am a ROM jumper. Do it all the time. Yesterday, I was having some performance issues with my Note2 so I thought I would do a full wipe and try out another ROM. I also wiped my internal storage. My recover at that time was philz_touch_6.19.3-t0ltetmo. Somehow, I ended up wiping everything and I couldn't boot into anything other than Download mode.
Still no biggie. Wait until I got home and I would flash some with via Odin on my Windows netbook. It never worked. It would maybe get to 25% complete and hang. I left it running for about an hours with no results. Then I moved to my Linux desktop and installed Heimdall. Used that to put philz_touch_6.19.3-t0ltetmo back on the device. Then I installed cm-10.2-20140309-NIGHTLY-t0ltetmo.zip via sideload.
Stuck on smiling robot with a circle.
So I sideloaded CARBON-KK-NIGHTLY-20140302-0859-t0ltetmo.zip. Stuck on the logo there too. aokp_t0ltetmo_kitkat_nightly_2014-02-25.zip same thing. I try pushing the ROM's instead of sideloading. No luck.
So I am thinking that maybe I got a bad philz recovery. Redownload that, and go through the same list of roms. Nothing. OK... so maybe philz has become a POS for some reason on my phone. I try openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.0-t0ltetmo.zip and repeat all the steps above. Wiping and sideloading, then wiping and pushing... stuck on logo.
I have to say I am stumped. I am losing nerd cred by asking for help, but dammit I am stumped. Any help appreciated.
Since the kit kat update on my note 3 (N9005) I have been experiencing problems with the phone failing to wake up from standby. This sometimes happen a few times a day, or it could be a few days before it happens
Basically, it would work normally, and occasionally when I either open the s view or try to press the power/home button to turn the screen on, the screen would remain black and nothing happens. If I hold the power button the reset the phone it then normally works for a while but the same problem would come back after a period of time.
I have never experienced this with 4.3 so I suspect this must be a software problem. I haven't rooted or tripped know btw.
Has anyone also had this problem?
PS: has any of yous also had the problem with the music player crashing and then refusing to play music until after a reboot?
