Hi,

I have two questions - hope someone can assist:
1.Do you know a customized ROM with working KNOX?
2. If I will flash Samsung's original ROM, will I have a working KNOX? What about the flag?

Thanks.

Cannot run KNOX topic

Hi, I downgraded my S4 from NA4 to MK8, and I rooted it. After that, I installed KNOX, and now I can't use it because it simply doesn't run... I'm able to type password, but then "KNOX stopped working"... How can I run this, or how can I uninstall KNOX? Maybe I should first install KNOX and then root phone? Or don't accept KNOX blocking while rooting?

E: Also, I have installed floating window mod, so I modified some system files, maybe this is why KNOX don't work?

[Q] Android 4.3 knox issues after root topic

Hi, so I tried searching but I couldn't find anyone with the same problem.

So I upgraded Android 4.1.2 to 4.3 a couple of days on my galaxy s3 & I noticed that the root was gone with the update, little did I know that there was this awesome new Knox software (solving problems by creating new ones, heh) which would prevent superSU from starting after rooting. Not to mention this amazing Samsung program also wouldn't start on rooted devices so there was no way I could uninstall it either.
So I realized I had done a mistake and did a hard reset, however, when the phone started again I saw that SuperSU was still there and I was getting the same error as before & Knox (would you believe it) still refused to start. So I heard that my only option now is to flash my Galaxy S3 with 4.3 with Odin to clean it completely, however I'm not able to find a Rom to do it with ever since SAMSUNG released the update in KIES.

Any help appreciated. Thank you.

knox topic

just to be clear, there's no danger of tripping knox until at least a 4.3 update right?

so if I root now,and maybe put a rom on later (curenttly 4.2) there'll be no trace right?

Delete knox with Root app Delete? topic

I read that you can possibly delete Knox with this app from the play store.
Does anyone know if this is true or what could/would happen if Knox was uninstalled?
Thanks in advance.

Note 10.1 v2 and knox topic

I'm looking to buy a 2014 10.1 and something caught my attention and was curious about it. I have a s4 running 4.3 android and thanks to Knox I cant put a custom recovery on it and have to use safestrap to use a custom rom essential wasting much space. Is that a issue with the tablet as well. Or is twrp/clockwork able to be used?

[GUIDE] Unlock your MK2 Knox Galaxy S4 topic

After several hours of trial and error, I found a way that worked for me. It will trip the Knox counter though. Also, what worked for me may not work for everyone else. If you brick your device that's not my fault in any way, so good luck :D

Using this guide, flash back to the stock TAR (not the UVUAMDL TAR). This restores 4.2.2, which allows access to the menu. However, this alone is not enough, as it won't give you access to the perso functions. Attempting to flash the UVUAMDL TAR will result in an error (at least, it did for me).

Second, extract the modem.bin from the UVUAMDL file, and flashed it to the phone using Odin. It's similar to the guide above, but instead of using PDA, you use phone. This gives you access to the perso functions, as it forces the baseband back to UVUAMDL from UVUEMK2. It may be possible to flash the UVUAMDL.tar modem files found in other threads, I haven't tried this out myself though.

Now, at this point you can follow the instructions in this thread, as every option should now be available. If they're not, make sure your Android version is 4.2.2 and that the baseband is UVUAMDL.

If it works at this point, great, go on to the next step (you may have noticed by now that your sound is not working). If not, use RegionLock Away to fully unlock the phone. At this point, your phone should be fully unlocked and you can see it connected to the network. However, dialing/calling lags significantly, and there is no sound.

The next step is to use Odin to fully restore UVUEMK2, which would restore full functionality. You can download the file from here, and flash using the same steps above. This will restore full sound and phone functionality, while your device remains unlocked. If it gets stuck during the boot animation, you simply need to do a factory wipe from recovery (not sure if this works, haven't tested it myself), or just install your recovery of choice from Odin and install whatever ROM you want to use (what I did, which still required a full factory reset from recovery). Skipping restoring UVUEMK2 and installing your ROM of choice does not work, however. You will still have no sound and the phone function will lag considerably.

If everything goes well, you should have a fully unlocked T-mobile Galaxy S4.

question about KNOX topic

I was just wondering has anybody tried useing factory mode with the usb plug/dongle that we used on the s2 to reset custom rom counter? or tried flashing in factory mode? will this reset knox or allow custom bootloader without tripping knox. I've not seen any mention of using said usb dongle or trying it.

[Q] Rooted note II and knox counter topic

Hey everybody,

I have a rooted N7100 on stock 4.3. I used triangle away and the normal counters are back to factory default. However the knox warranty void flag has been triggered.

Three questions:

- I'd like to receive OTA updates. But it looks like the knox flag is getting checked since I get "Your software has been mofified.." while checking for updates. Is there any way at all to remove the knox flag on a rooted note 2 with stock 4.3?

- If the question to above is a no, would flashing stock rom/bootloader all the way again patch the knox flag?

- If I'd like to flash my phone with the latest stock rom, I'm assuming the device gets wiped? Is there anything that'd let me backup my settings/files/apps/texts and have it restored once I flash the new rom? (I'm not sure if Titanium is the right software for this).

PS: My wararntly is long gone, but I'd like to have OTAs without having the phone wiped (like how I used to).

Please help me out.

Thanks!

To delete knox you just need to activate it which will ask you to set up a pin code, entering this pin code 20 wrong times will force your system to delete knox

[Q] Network unlocking my I9500 and knox topic

Hi guys, I wonder if I can get some help unlocking my I9500. I'm traveling to US next week and would be acquiring a t-mobile or at&t prepaid sim to use the the phone, so I need to unlock it.

First of all, I have verified that my phone is locked to accept sims only from my carrier.
Second, yes, I have tried the methods explained http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2282683 , but I always get:

MENU NOT EXIST
PRESS BACK KEY
Current Command is 111

If relevant, here is some info from my s4:
android 4.3(official from my carrier)
baseband: I9500BUEMK1
build number: JSS15J.I9500UBUEMK1
AP: I9500UBUEMK1
CP: I9500UBUEMK1
CSC: I9500UWMEMK1
RF Cal: 2013.4.24
HW Rev: MP 0.800

I don't want you any method that may void my warranty or alters the knox flag.

Are there others "not invasive" methods to network unlock my 9500?

If I have to get a network unlock code from some site in the internet, which ones do you recommend that are reliable? would using a unlock code alter my knox flag?

Thank you so much in advance.

Samsung Knox Odin Problems topic

Hello! I am new to this forum but I am in a little fickle.

I have the Samsung Note 2 TMOBILE and couple weeks ago, I updated to 4.3 through regular OTA. I then rooted and flashed Cyanogenmod 11 and thus, voided my Samsung Knox Warranty bugger thing. I then attempted to go back to stock by flashing stock 4.1.1 through Odin and it worked! I tried to do OTA update again but I realized that the Samsung Knox Void kept me from reaching update services... So I was stuck at 4.1.1 Stock. From there, I was able to flash other custom roms and everything worked.

However, this is a problem for me. The 4.1.2 update from Tmobile was what enabled LTE on my note 2. So right now, I have the old baseband(?) that does not allow LTE. I even attempted to flash a non-knox 4.1.2 (which allowed LTE) through Odin and everything worked until the last second, but it flashed FAIL and I was unable to update my baseband(?).

I was wondering if there is another way to enable LTE by updating to 4.1.2 in any way? Or is this completely unable due to the Samsung Knox?

Thank you in advance.
