[GUIDE] How to back out of KitKat to Jelly Bean? | Downgrade to JB LG G2 topic

Many of you will have happened to them what to me, upgraded to VDF KitKat and then realized that root could not be and without root cannot modify anything.
You tried to Flash a ROM JB format KDZ and found out that you can't.

Behold the solution!!

Back to Jelly Bean in a LG G2

It is a bit laborious but simple

1.- Will have to follow the tutorial Manual LGFlashtool, here one is Spanish with pictures and everything, here hyelton LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock)
2.- Download the ROM TOT JB for your phone model: http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2
3.- Turn on the phone in mode Downloader, (Vol+ & USB to PC)
4.- Connect the phone to the USB port and start the downgrade
5.- When finished it will skip this message on the phone:

"Enter the PIN/password to decrypt"

[_____________________]

NOTE
There I was wrong, and I didn't know that, but I think that it must be the password for your Gmail account
As I have said, I'm wrong, because I turned off the phone, then I had to activate the keyboard from the status bar, enter Hidden Menu (in my case I have a D802 - 3845#*802#) and do a Factory Reset.

I'm not sure if it will erase everything by typing the correct code, including the SD, but when in doubt and always before flashing I recommend BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP...

Now you can already root install modified Recovery and install KK rooted from Recovery

Good lucky

HOX constantly rebooting after official HTC update to jelly bean topic

Hi,

After updating the software using the "software updates" from the settings to Jelly Bean, the device won;t start up, it will show the HTC splash screen and reboot.

I tried to do a factory reset and to shutdown the device but every time i connect the charger it will start up again and enter an infinite loop, I cannot flash a new recovery or firmware.zip using the fastboot because the device does not have enough battery (I tried recharging it using a script that will loop and enter it to reload bootloader but it is not enough, I got it up to 10%, no more)

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Doron

Questions regarding a stock app and Jelly Bean topic

Hi there. As the title suggests, I have a few questions about a certain stock app and another for Jelly Bean 4.2.

1.- I'd like to know if anybody can know what this app does. I didn't notice it till today, and before you ask anything, my phone is new, it has only 3 days of use, and it's not rooted. For those curious, it's a BLU Dash 5.0 running JB 4.2. I can't read chinese but as I was saying, I find it a little, odd, to have it as a stock app. Why stock? Because I can't uninstall it but I can disable it. I haven't done so since I don't know what the app does. Here are the screenshots:

2.- My next question regards the RAM. I know Jelly Bean is slightly different and heavier than ICS, but is the RAM I have in my screenshot, well, normal for the activities running? (My phone has 512 mb as the minimum required). Of course, I have no idea if it's an issue since I experience no lag. (Sorry if it's a noobish question :P ), yet on ICS, I had around 130 mb or so free. But does having free RAM really matter?

I appreciate any response given, thank you for your time.

[Q] ROM-AOSP Stock Jelly Bean 4.3.1_r1 suddenly "Google Play Services has stopped" topic

I've been running the [ROM-AOSP] Stock Jelly Bean 4.3.1_r1 for the Kindle Fire [10-10 4.3.1_r1 "master"] for a couple of months, and everything has been great, but suddenly, just after the first of the year, I started getting persistent "Unfortunately Google Play Services has stopped" errors, followed by "com.google.process.gapps has stopped" and "com.google.android.gsf.login has stopped".

I have tried disabling Google Play Services, uninstalling its updates, wiping its cache and data, the same for Download Services, and even done a full cache and Dalvik cache wipe, to no avail. As soon as I boot the Fire, I get "Unfortunately, Google Play Services has stopped.", and the cycle repeats every coupld of minutes, or everytime I access an app that requires some functionality thereof.

Again, everything was fine until just after the first of the year. Google has updated Google Play Services at least twice in the past 30 days, and obviously some update broke this functionality. I'd also seen that perhaps it might be related to the ART/Dalvik dichotomy, but this ROM doesn't have the option to switch between the two.

Anyone who can offer any help on this would be much appreciated. I've had a good two year run with my 0 Kindle Fire, and have run Hashcode's ROMs all this time. I've been particularly happy with their AOSP stock ROMs, but I think the 1st gen Kindle Fire is reaching the end of iuts useful lifespan. I can't even use it to access xda-dev forums without the browser crashing. :( The thing is, I can't afford to upgrade my tablet right now, and I don't want a different ROM with all kinds of extraneous crap loaded on it. I just want the stock Android build. It was a risk buying the Fire when it came out, but the Nexus 7 didn't exist, yet.

Hi everyone,
I have reported Curtis version of Slim bean, and have made a few changes that suited my desires.

- Holo HD used
- Latest play store added
- Change in Dexorpt flags
- UI is adjusted closer to AOSP
- Added sysnotify
- Added ES-Explorer
- Added Original calendar widget
-Host file updated with latest add blocks etc - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1916098
-removed a few more unused files

I would like to add that this has been a learning exercise for me, more than anythings else. I would like to thank Lloir for the original source, Curtis for the driving force and updates, MameTozio for all his hard work on porting this and other roms. Any issues please post in the Q&A section.

Future plans include , making the whole theme greyscale, before working further into the guts of a rom with the hope of working out how to port or compile a 4.2.2 Slim bean for the HOV. If anyone has any advice that would be super!

Forgot to add that I recommend using this to help keep the phone snappy:
