S4 Downgrade topic

Hi everyone, I currently have a samsung galaxy S4 I9505 phone running android 4.3. I upgraded to 4.3 via Odin not via the inbuilt software update. Im wondering if it is at all possible to downgrade to 4.2.2 because with 4.3 their has been an introduction of a lot of bugs to apps such as Chrome and Spotify. These bugs have since been really getting annoying and the only time I didn't have to deal with them would be when I was running 4.2.2.

Alternatively can anyone tell me if upgrading to android Kitkat for S4 would potentially fix these problems?

Any help will of course be greatly appreciated and even if no help can be given thanks for taking the time to read this post.

[Q] N900W8 Unable to downgrade to 4.3 topic

Hello,

I recently flashed the odin file for the N900W8 (Canadian) Galaxy Note 3 to get Android 4.4 Kit Kat. The Canadian version of the phone I am using has an unlocked bootloader. I decided I want to downgrade and go back to 4.3 but whenever I try to flash the odin file for 4.3 I get this error:

<ID:0/007> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/007> FAIL! (Auth)

It also says in download mode: Write Protection: Enable

Reactivation lock is also off.

I was just wondering if anyone else encountered this and found a way to downgrade successfully?

[Q] downgrade to custom 4.3 over stock 4.4 possible? topic

hey guys this is my first post and i looked forum and didn't see any information about downgrading on 4.4 to 4.3 . i saw some guys saying its not possible but i assume they mean official downgrade. the thing is i got n9005 with 4.4.2 installed and iam not happy with it so i want to downgrade it to unofficial 4.3 roms. as i understand boot loader changed with 4.4.2 and doesn't allow to go back but what if we can install new bootlader and official ROM. is that not possible too?

2nd q is 0x1 means void warranty what about 0x3 (they say tripped) is this something real or i misunderstand this?

3th q is can i even if i downgraded custom 4.3 and want to go back to stock rom is it possible?

I have D802 G2 that had stock rom and I've upgraded to the 4.4.2 KitKat with the following manual:

This is a vodafone official rom which is suppose to be rooted.

How can I downgrade back to the original 4.2.2 stock rom?

I tried the LG R&D Recovery tool and loaded the 4.2.2 kdz file and turned my phone into download mode but it doesn't work.
It keeps on saying that my phone has the latest updates by LG, I wanna downgrade !!!

Anyone can help ???

Downgrade from 4.4.2 to 4.3 possible? topic

Sorry if this has been covered but I haven't been able to find any answer to this in regards to the S3.
I was originally on 4.1.2 before ever doing anything to my S3 which I made a complete backup of including EFS, I have since flashed CM11 and rooted my phone and am obviously now on 4.4.2 - KitKat.
I've been having a pretty rough time with the data issues that seem to have come with 4.4.2 ROMs at the moment and was wanting to try 4.3, more specifically the MIUI ROM.

Is it possible to downgrade from CM11/4.4.2 to 4.3/MIUI? If so is it just a simple matter of a factory reset via my recovery (TWRP) and then flashing the appropriate 4.3 ZIP?

I upgraded my note to 4.4.2 with freeza rom. I have my phone flashed to a different service provider (other then sprint) I found out that 4.4.2 is not compatible with the flash. Anytime my device is flashed then my phone has no service. It has a red x on the service bars. If I can downgrade my phone then I will regain service and be able to use my device. If I can't downgrade then you can say I just have a paper weight.

i had CM 11 for a while but recently the bugs get worse then less. In the moment i cant make any call for example.
I tried Sammys 4.3, but the experience was very bad too. Pretty buggy, some apps wont work...and slow like hell.

So im thinking of going back to the latest 4.1.2 sammy rom.

I lost a bit the overview about efs and all this stuff.

Is there any problem to expect doing this? What was the latest or best version of 4.1.2?

Many of you will have happened to them what to me, upgraded to VDF KitKat and then realized that root could not be and without root cannot modify anything.

Back to Jelly Bean in a LG G2

It is a bit laborious but simple

1.- Will have to follow the tutorial Manual LGFlashtool, here one is Spanish with pictures and everything, here hyelton LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock)
2.- Download the ROM TOT JB for your phone model: http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2
3.- Turn on the phone in mode Downloader, (Vol+ & USB to PC)
4.- Connect the phone to the USB port and start the downgrade
5.- When finished it will skip this message on the phone:

"Enter the PIN/password to decrypt"

There I was wrong, and I didn't know that, but I think that it must be the password for your Gmail account
As I have said, I'm wrong, because I turned off the phone, then I had to activate the keyboard from the status bar, enter Hidden Menu (in my case I have a D802 - 3845#*802#) and do a Factory Reset.

I'm not sure if it will erase everything by typing the correct code, including the SD, but when in doubt and always before flashing I recommend BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP...

Now you can already root install modified Recovery and install KK rooted from Recovery

[How To] Downgrade back to 4.1.2 topic

This thread is a small tutorial about how to get back to the 2.254 or 4.1.2 update from Sony for the Sony Xperia SP. This tutorial can be used on all the devices: C5303/C5302/C5306.

Let's begin shall we..

First you need to download the correct ftf file for your device/operator or needs. This can be done here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2311964

Second thing; You will need a program called Flashtool for this. You can download this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
For Windows 8 and 8.1 users I also recommend you to read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2095087
(Above link is a how to for installing the proper drivers for Windows 8/8.1 clients)

After the installation of Flashtool and the proper drivers you need to move the downloaded ftf file into the correct folder. Location can be found here: C:/Flashtool/Firmware

Before you can flash back you need to check for the following things:

• Bootloader locked? If not you wont have BE2/OTA/PCC etc


• I've made backups of my important files that are stored on my phone?


• Battery at atleast 50%?


• I have patience?


• I got something to do meanwhile?

Let's get started:

1: Open Flashtool:


Flashtool(.exe) for 32Bits systems and Flashtool64(.exe) for 64Bits systems

2: Press the Lightningbolt picture and select Flashmode

This will give another screen.

3: Select the downloaded ftf. (In this case 2.254)

Make sure that all the wipes are checked and the others are unchecked. This is to prevent any bootloops or other problems after downgrading.

4: Press Flash and the next two lines will be added to the flashtool log

The files are being prepared and checked. Have a bit of patience please.

5: Turn off your phone and turn it back on into Flashmode

After this the process will start.


After flashing you can remove your phone and boot it up. You will have 4.1.2 back on your device :D

FAQ

- My Phone wont stay into flashmode
> Turn it off, wait a few minutes and turn it back into flashmode

- Flashtool wont recognise my phone
> Make sure you have the proper drivers installed. See C://Flashtool/Drivers

- Flashing failed
> Problem depends on the error code given by Flashtool. Post the problem here and perhaps we can help

- Got a bootloop
> Reflash again

- Even after reflash I got into a bootloop
> Turn off your phone via the small button behind the batterycover and wait a few minutes. Then try again. If that doesnt work you need to flash again.

- Booting takes ages
> This is normal. The entire cache needs to be rebuild. Patience my dear..

- After flashing and booting my phone is laggy.
> Reboot device and wait a bit. The phone needs to fully reset and boot itself. Have some patience dear.
