[Q] GT I9195 No mass storage mode after root topic

Rooted my S4 mini with Clockwork and now when I plug it into a computer it is no longer recognized. Autoplay does not come up nor does it appear as a device in My Computer. I updated my samsung drivers and tried downloading a "USB Mass Storage Enabler" app, but nothing seems to work.

Anyone experience this problem? Any suggestions?

Nevermind. Found my answer. Mods, please delete this

A way to root android 4.3 topic

I havent tried this but it could be possible. you need unlocked bootloader for this. update to the new 4.3 update, then flash a custom kernel from 4.1.2(one with cwm), boot into recover mode and click reboot phone. it will say "phone not rooted, root now?" click yes and it shall put SU files in /xbin. flash back to stock 4.3 ernel and then download supersu or superuser from play store to manage root apps - dont need a app like this for root, permission is automatically accepted without this app so you dont nesseserily need it. this worked for my stock 4.1.2 ROM and in theory should work for 4.3. I havent tested it yet but because i havent updated yet but i will test in the next 1-2 hours when i get a chance :)

1.First turn on your pc then start flashtool then turn off your phone, start the phone in fastboot mode by holding the volume up button and then attaching the usb cable to it, then click on the thunder icon then select fastboot and click ok.select the flash a kernel option, select file extension as .img from the dropdown menu then select the 4.3-boot.img that you have downloaded and click open.
2.Boot up your phone normally. Then move the UPDATE-ROOT-4.3 that you have downloaded to your External SD card as the recovery is not detecting the Internal storage.

[ROOT] Running out of Battery? Use this! topic

We know that our old Note have an AMOLED display, this means that the black pixels are almost turned off, so you can experience a good and sharp image instead of blueish, LCD TFT displays. It's a bit buggy because of dead pixels from manufacturer, clipping issue in videos and screen burn-in (not in every phone, just in some). Another complication of this screen is that if you put brightness at lowest, it's still very bright so if you want to read something in your bed, or use the phone without iluminating the whole room, there's an app that you will like:
Galactic Night
This app have much great features: you can use the phone at any combination of colors you want: Black and Red, Black and Blue, Black and Green, No blue (to prevent insomnium), B&W etc.
So what the hell have this to do with the battery? Well, it's easy, think this:
You're running low battery, and need extra minutes to finish your task. Use Black and Red setting
You are in a travel, without any charger, and want your phone turned on all the day. Use Black and Red setting

If you use this setting, your battery will be incremented to a 25% to 40% in duration. Also as it uses only red pattern of pixels and black, your phone will have less and it will be perfect to read at night (even it will be more healthy as it doesnt uses blue leds which causes insomnium).
The app is free to use and requires ROOT. Works only on Samsung phones with amoled screens.

******USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK****** Using these options for a long time (DAYS without turning off the screen for even a single second) will result a permanent lost of the used color.

Before starting:

1- The Root instructions are only for Xperia Z1 C6903/C6902/C6943 running latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean 14.2.A.1.136 firmware. Check your firmware version in Settings > About Device and make sure that it matches the one mentioned here.

2- Please make sure that your phone’s battery is charged at least over 60%.

3- Backup each and everything on your Android phone.

4- You need to install CWM recovery first. Follow our full guide here to install it on your device. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2694265

How to Root Xperia Z1 Running Android 4.3 14.2.A.1.136 Firmware:

3- Now boot into CWM recovery on your phone. To do so, turn off your device first. Now turn it on, as soon as you see the Pink LED, press the Volume Up Key rapidly.

4- You should see the CWM recovery interface shortly.

5- Once in CWM, select “Install Zip > Choose Zip from SDcard > Select SuperSu.zip > Yes”.

6- This will flash SuperSu.zip file, once flashing is complete, reboot your device.

7- Congrats! You’re rooted now!

Rogers D803 - KK update vs Root topic

Hi all!
Rogers has just released KK update.
Since there's no root method as of now for 4.4, I decided to root my phone this morning prior to performing the update.
My question:

Do I also need to install a custom recovery (TWRP) BEFORE upgrading to 4.4 if I want to keep root access?
Is it sufficient to be rooted (without custom recovery) in order to keep root access after 4.4 update?

I already downloaded the update to my phone but opted to install the update later.
So I'm hoping this way, I won't have any issues with the phone not wanting to download the update because of a not stock recovery detected.

Thanks in advance!
