[Q] Yet another cannot unlock bootloader thread, topic

I have an unbranded US C6806 purchased directly from the Sony Store Online, and I have unlocked the bootloader in the past, and relocked it.

But now, any attempt to unlock the bootloader is met with "FAILED: command did not succeed" (Whether initiated by fastboot.exe in the command line or Flashtool)

*#*#7378423#*#* ... still responds wih Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes

I am running a fully updated Windows 7 x64 laptop, and have tried.

Disabling UAC and the antivirus
Using MSconfig to reboot the computer with the minimum drivers
Safe Mode (Wouldn't get past <waiting on device>)

The only thing that I can think of trying next is dusting off an old XP laptop and trying with that.

BTW fastboot getvar version comes back with 0.5 like it always has.

Another battery drain thread.. (4.4.2 Location..) topic

I know some of you wont even read this thread.. due to it's popularity, but I just have to share my experience with 4.4.2 battery issues.

This is going to be a bit long (I just made 50% of you run away..) so sit back.

About two weeks ago I decided to flash the stock 4.4.2 that came out, and so I did, everything went smooth, no problems what so ever.
I also decided to root my device for the first time, just so I could change some system sounds and use root explorer, nothing more. so I did.
since then I started noticing the battery was not as it used to be, I would usually get home after work (~9-10 hours) and have 50-70% battery left depending on my phone usage that day. Now I was getting home with 30-20% and have to plug it in in the evening.
From what I saw in the battery stats in 'settings', it looked as if the phone is waking up every minute or so, for a couple of seconds, rather than sleeping when the screen is off, it got to the point I had less than an hour of screen time and the phone was about to shut down.

So I installed BBS, cpu spy, wake detector and started monitoring everything, in short I'll just say it got me nowhere, the stats were random at best, making me disable exchange services, Gmail sync, Google plus sync, Google now and more.

So after some time I got fed up, and decided to do a full system wipe, including system\data etc. basically everything, back to 4.4.2 stock, no apps, nothing installed except what comes with the phone.

Again, same behavior, another system wipe, same behavior.

I've been wiping the phone more than I was using it for the past 2 weeks, and yesterday I decided to try a different approach, I disabled EVERYTHING, the phone was basically just a 'phone'. NOW I was getting somewhere, phone was sleeping as soon as the screen was off, not waking up at all. and so I started enabling stuff, first my apps, everything still OK, then Google sync, OK, exchange sync, OK, location - BOOM - phone waking up again..

So, Location is the culprit after all, I started disabling stuff like Google location history, location reporting, WIFI scan networks, set locations to power saving mode, NADA. basically I have to turn off 'locations' all together in order for the phone to last more than half a day.

And that's my 4.4.2 experience for you.
Anyone has the same experience?
I'm this close to selling my S4 and getting a Nexus5.. my wife's Nexus 5 is amazing, everything set to ON, battery lasts 2.5 days..

Thakns for reading people.

Attached are two examples of the phone staying awake all the time, and not sleeping regularly. I did not take a screenshot of when the 'Locations' was off, but it was consistent with the screen on time, when the screen was off the phone was sleeping, no exceptions.

Another messed up phone topic

So, I figured with all my time off from classes during spring break that it would be a good idea to update my HTC One. It was running a rather old version of the HD rom and i assume some old version of TWRP or Clockwork.

Using Windows 7 and fastboot, I erased the cache and pushed over TWRP 2.7 then used "fastboot reboot". At the time, I was unaware of what trouble that last command would get me into. Upon further investigation, I found out that I needed to erase the cache again and use "fastboot reboot-loader". Once i sent "fastboot reboot" the phone shutdown, then made it to the boot screen and shut off I think.

At the moment all my phone will do is turn the red light off and on. If the red light is off, holding down the power button for ten seconds turns the light on. Holding down the button for three seconds turns off the light. Holding down the power button and volume down button at the same time for any amount of time does nothing.

Does anyone have ideas on how I get it to work again?

[Q] Another root ? topic

Fellas, I come to here, humble and contribed. I, as all others, have the dreaded gps bug. I know there are a few posts concerning it, however, those are starting to get confusing to me. I ask for some simple instructions as to simply root my device, and procedure to replacing the files that are to make it functional again. No debloating, flashing of ROMs, or etc. DL links would be nice too.

Phone specs:

At&t n900a
4.3 stock
baseband n900aucubnb4
build number jss15j.n900aucubnb4

Have rooted other samsung devices, so not totally an idiot...

Any help will be much appreciated

Transfer files from one Android phone to another via USB cable topic

Hello everyone.
I wonder if I could somehow transfer files from an Android phone to another one using its OTG capabilities and a USB cable. (not over wifi, bluetooth etc.)
I need this because I have Nexus 4 (8gb) and another phone with microsd slot, which I could use for storage purposes.

Another Soft Brick... topic

Hey guys. After searching this and other forums and reading many threads I decided the best option would be for me to start my own for my personal situation. Here's the back story.
I put in a fully charged battery that I've used successfully for a few months. Phone appeared to successfully boot up then rebooted itself. Made it to swirling blue before rebooting again. This time, and every time after, it freezes at the Samsung Galaxy SIII screen. Phone won't go into recovery mode but will enter download mode.
I was running rooted ATT stock rom (not sure what version but I haven't done the last 2 OTA's for sure). Phone had been rooted for at least 6 months with no issues. No new apps or anything had been done to the phone recently. TWRP is on the phone however when trying to enter it it freezes on the Team Win screen and never fully enters recovery.
When trying go back to stock rom using Odin I get this message:
<ID:0/009> Added!!
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..

. I'm using the firmware found here . I747UCALG1.
My phone also has a bad pin connection in the usb port (hence why I was changing out batteries)
It forms a connection but at times doesn't stay connected or any little manipulation could throw it off. I do know however that it's not losing connection with the computer when I get the failed message in Odin.
Any help or ideas? As of now I'm rocking a go phone but would rather get my S3 back.

Thanks

Should I warranty or try another ROM? topic

I bought my n7 LTE in early December 2013. I'm running Sinless ROM on it. Today these spots showed up on the screen. What do you recommend? Warranty with Google or ASUS or try another ROM first to see if it goes away? Crap, tried to show a screenshot but the spots dont show. I'll see if I can get a pic from my phone of it.

The pink dots are not reflection from background light. Any ideas?

[Q] Another Security Error [P769] topic

Hello to all since this is my first post on these forums! And to just say thank you to everyone who will respond to me if I don't say it.

I rooted and installed CWM 6.0.1.8 on my phone about a year ago. I did not unlock the boot loader, because I didn't want to have any custom ROMs on my phone. Now just recently I was looking at android 4.4 and thought that this is a good update for any phone. So, I started to do my research for what to do to flash a ROM. I downloaded CWM 6.0.4.5 on my micro SD card and used "[ROOT]Recovery Tools - Flasher". Now this is where everything goes south...

I went through the app, found the CWM file to flash, and then I got the security error... After researching why this happened it was because of not unlocking the boot loader which was a huge mistake that I forgot to do.

I have searched on here a lot. I found a lot of great and useful information, but I can't try any of the suggestions yet. Not until my computer can recognize my phone. I know before this all happened, I had debugging enabled on my phone. I do not have fastboot installed on my computer anymore (reformatted a long time ago). I do have B2CApp.exe installed so I could try to do a factory reset on my phone. I have installed the driver for the phone from the LG program and from their website.

But like I said before, when I plug in my phone to my computer, the computer does nothing. It doesn't recognize that there is even a device there, but there is power getting to it. How I know is because I took out the battery and "S/W Upgrading" could be enabled.

If I can get past this, I'm 100% positive I can fix it then. If anyone has some sort of useful information about my computer not recognizing my phone, please share it! Also, for context, my computer is a windows 7 x64.

Thank you for your time and your responses!

Paul

Another Root Question topic

I got the Moto X a couple weeks ago for VZW. I'd like to root the Moto X, because..tether :D. Witht he 4.4.2 update around the corner, should I root now or wait? I don't on putting any custom ROMS on there, so I'd like the most updated Stock ROM. But I'm sure that's not rooted yet. Also, how hard is it to root the X? If it's that hard and easy to brick the phone, I may just hold off. Thanks guys.

I tried titanium backup and copied the files from my Z tot the Nexus and tried tot install it, but I got an parse error or something?

Yet another keyboard question... topic

So I'm considering buying a keyboard for my N10. Specifically this one :
http://www.leicke.eu/en/products/SI54142

However, from my researches, I feel like all these keyboard have the same Chinese origins. Look how similar it looks to this : http://dx.com/p/rechargeable-bluetoo...1#.UugoiBBKFhF

From what I've read, they work fine but the grip system is not very stable and the letters tend to wear off.

Would you recommend another one ? I must say that I like the convertible look and I'd like to buy a black one, to match the N10 color...

What do you think ?

Another case question.. topic

Just ordered an X during the sale yesterday to replace my S3.. My S3 had an Otterbox defender which I really liked- particularly the deep bezel around the screen. Can someone recommend a case or bumper that has that same deep bezel in addition to the Otterbox?

Thanks

[Release] Another RigorZ Hack ^^ topic

Hi guys ^^ Erm. This time i'll only give link for the dll because i dont have any injector which doesnt have advertisement on it soo you have to find a injector ^^.

Frsit you have to copy the dll into RigorZ files. Also while you are injecting the dll, use the one which is in the game files. If it is not in the game files then the game will crash. It works with f1.

[Q] Getting another N5 topic

Hi all :)

So, 2 months ago i had a Nexus 5, and ofcourse, i had the popular issue of people not hearing me very well when i call them or they call me.

I have a Galaxy Note 3 atm, and a friend of mine ordered a new Nexus 5 from the U.S, and he offered to swap it for my Note 3.

My question is, is that issue still present in the nexus 5 sets ? Or did Google fix it already ?

Thank you :fingers-crossed:

[Q] Android Tablet -> OTG -> USB Hub -> Another USB hubs not working topic

Greetings.

I can plug an external-powered 4-port USB hub to Kiano Core 10.1 Dual 3G and it is recognized by the system and USB Device Info app. But as soon as I connect a gaming mouse or keyboard that simulates an USB hub (with mouse and keyboard attached to it so you can bind keys to mouse and clicks to keyboard), the system freezes and only unplugging the hub or waiting some time (if only keyboard is plugged to the hub) can help. After waiting some time, the system unfeezes and the app recognizes the keyboard. About the mouse, it completly freezes the system and only a hard reset helps.

On my Galaxy Note 3 and Xperia P, the hub, mouse and keyboard work without problems.

Both mouse and keyboard work with the tablet if plugged without the hub (mouse is recognized as both mouse and keyboard so I cannot use the on-screen keyboard, but this is another problem).

I have a rooted original rom.

Can anyone help with this?

[Help] Another W2S help thread. :( topic

I'm having some strangeness with my W2S and hoping someone can help..

It behaves as if I'm using the wrong matrix; if you divide the world in half and I look in the direction of 1 side, my w2s works fine; look the other and nothing... w is negative and it thinks objects are behind me..

Here's a quick vid.
[YOUTUBE_ID]1ByKl2nXDPg[/YOUTUBE_ID]

here's my w2s code... is m_ViewProj not the correct matrix to use?

Code:

bool worldToScreen(D3DXVECTOR3 v3, D3DXVECTOR3* vOut)
{

        unsigned int screenWidth = DxRenderer::GetInstance()->m_pScreen->m_Width;
        unsigned int screenHeight = DxRenderer::GetInstance()->m_pScreen->m_Height;

        D3DXMATRIX viewProjectionMatrix = GameRenderer::GetInstance()->m_pRenderView->m_ViewProj;
        if (!viewProjectionMatrix)
                return false;

        float mX = screenWidth * 0.5f;
        float mY = screenHeight * 0.5f;

        float w =
                viewProjectionMatrix(0, 3) * v3.x +
                viewProjectionMatrix(1, 3) * v3.y +
                viewProjectionMatrix(2, 3) * v3.z +
                viewProjectionMatrix(3, 3);

        if (w < 0.01f)
        {
                vOut->z = w;
                return false;
        }

        float x =
                viewProjectionMatrix(0, 0) * v3.x +
                viewProjectionMatrix(1, 0) * v3.y +
                viewProjectionMatrix(2, 0) * v3.z +
                viewProjectionMatrix(3, 0);

        float y =
                viewProjectionMatrix(0, 1) * v3.x +
                viewProjectionMatrix(1, 1) * v3.y +
                viewProjectionMatrix(2, 1) * v3.z +
                viewProjectionMatrix(3, 1);

        vOut->x = mX + mX * x / w;
        vOut->y = mY - mY * y / w;
        vOut->z = w;

        return true;
}

positioned right in his hand, though.

I have too much time on my hands.
