I'm bringing my GS4 to warranty and I've reset everything to default (I haven't got knox btw, removed root, reset binary counter etc) but my CSC is on BTU instead of ATO, and I'm wondering if this will somehow void my warranty, since the device was purchased in Austria, not the UK.

My experience with unlocked bootloader and warranty topic
So, here's what happened. Phone got somehow exposed to water, even though all the flaps were closed. Just a week before that, i got my bootloader unlocked just to get root. After the exposure, phone was not working at all, so even though i had bootloader unlocked, i sent it to the repair centre here in Slovakia. Told them that it's not booting up, paper under the flap turned soft orange after water exposure even thought it was closed. I requested the vacuum test or whatever the test is called. After a week, i got my phone back with brand new casing and motherboard. So, here's my idea. Flap was propably faulty. and the test proved that. Even having the bootloader unlocked didn't stopped them from changing all the things not charging a single Eur. It's just a tip, but, can't we just after bricking our phones, damage our flaps and get it damaged by water? There's pretty big chance that it will be accepted as flap fault. Hope this helps you somehow.

Warranty on verizon version topic
I have the verizon g2 and I wanted to get the warranty on it. The issue is I'm not using it on verizon. When I call they ask me for a verizon account. I told them that I bought the phone in full with no contact and didn't activate a verizon account. I said its unlocked and I'm using it on lycamobile. The cs now thinks I jail broke my phone so I explain to them that androids can't be jail Broken. By unlocked I mean it can be used with any carrier. And newer verizon phones are already unlocked. They get confused and just start making stupid excuses so I hang up. Is there anything I can do to get warranty on it because the manual says it has 1 year manufacture defect warranty on it. Any ideas what to do? Would it work out better if I went to a store or would they still need an account and stuff. Because I don't have receipts or anything since I bought it off eBay.

Warranty Issue topic
Hello. I am quite worried right now because I sent my phone in for repair and apparently my phone is out of warranty. Was it because I was s-off? I thought s-off had nothing to do with warranty. I feel so stupid now. I didn't know you could go from s off back to s on. The issues I am having with my HTC one is a dead pixel and the build quality. It has nothing to do with the software. The phone was given to Tells which then was sent to HTC repair. Now I get a notification that says my phone is out of warranty. Please help. My phone was also returned to stock settings and no tampered sign and locked bootloader.
AT&T Warranty Replacement topic
My S4 is still under its warranty period. Though I cracked the glass a few months ago. The digitizer was unharmed so I opted to order a glass only replacement and fix it myself. There are plenty of videos that demo the removal of the glass from the glass with a hair dryer etc.
I recently went into an AT&T warranty center about an unrelated issue and they agreed to provide a replacement device. The store rep indicated they were currently out of stock my my model but offered to have one ordered and sent directly to me. I would then need to send my device back in a package provided by AT&T.
Its important to note that I did not discuss or disclose the fact that I replaced the glass on the device myself with the store rep. My concern is based on the policy of returning your device to the warranty center through the mail. You are agreeing to purchasing the replacement refurbished device at full price (9) if your returned device is deemed to have physical damage once they receive it back from you.
Has anyone had luck with a similar scenario?
Thanks

[Q] upgrade, root, warranty void fix? topic
Is there a fix, in the works, similar to triangle away, clear cache partition for 4.4.2 like for 4.3? A Knox fix I guess? I've already jumped the gun, and updated OTA. And I'm a little hesitant about rerooting, as I read an article that said there is no warranty fix once you root from 4.4.2. Anything?

Hardware issues with out of warranty kindle fire topic
my kindle fire is way out of warranty and has a custom rom on it. i use it as a radio type device as my nexus 7 does not seem to work with the app i use for some reason (maybe a kitkat problem) but lately ive been noticing that i have to get the microusb thing just right in the kindle and leave it. if i do as much as to barely move the table it will quit charging. (the cable works fine with my nexus 7) and the headphones jack is really loose (again the headphones work just fine with my nexus 7). i dont really want to have to live with this anymore (note: i am really careful with my kindle fire so that cant be a problem) but dont know what to do. help please?
Unlocking Htc One: S-Off And Warranty topic
Hi everyone, I have an Htc One (M7) still locked, original, not touched yet.
I want to unlock now, but I now I'll lose warranty, but I'm asking this:
If I unlock, ok I'll lose warranty (Is there any way to not lose?), but can I delete the message in bootloader relocked?
Thanks!

[Q] How to temp un-root MK2 for Warranty? topic
Am having trouble un-rooting MK2 for warranty work and could use some pointers.
Here's the problem: I'm not getting 4G/LTE signal, even in dense urban areas.
I think I need a new SIM, which will entail a trip to the Verizon Store, which means un-rooting.
I recently upgraded to a Galaxy S4. I have Unlimited Data, so I did the upgrade on another line, then used my existing SIM from my Galaxy Nexus to activate. It seemed to work fine.
Then did the following:
• Rooted
• WiFi Tether hack
• Installed Xposed and Wanum to remove custom boot screen
So I read the various un-root threads. This seems the most useful:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2578209
but I'm concerned about the warning about losing the Loki Exploit and not being able to re-root.
If I ODIN the factory image, will I still be able to root it without Loki?
Other threads recommended a full-reset, which I did from stock recovery. Afterwards, I am still rooted and the Custom boot screen still appears.
So, how can I get back to a factory state to get a new SIM and then still be able to re-reroot?
Being able to use SafeStrap would be nice, but my main requirements are Root and WiFi tether. I can live with Nova Launcher over stock TouchWiz. I backed up the customized image in TiBu so I'll be able to restore once re-rooted.
Thoughts?

Should I warranty or try another ROM? topic
I bought my n7 LTE in early December 2013. I'm running Sinless ROM on it. Today these spots showed up on the screen. What do you recommend? Warranty with Google or ASUS or try another ROM first to see if it goes away? Crap, tried to show a screenshot but the spots dont show. I'll see if I can get a pic from my phone of it.

The pink dots are not reflection from background light. Any ideas?

[Q] Kernel is not seandroid enforcing set warranty bit: Kernel- What to do now topic
Hey Guys,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 32GB - GT-I9505. This S4 had Android 4.3 on it. I installed TWRP and SU ( rooted the phone). after a while SU gave me a message if i would like to turn KNOX off. I turned it off. Than i made a backup through twrp and i installed bobcat rom but that was version 4. After the instal the warning showed up : Kernel is not seandroid enforcing set warranty bit: Kernel
i looked all over the internet and couldnt find a way to get rid of that. I checked the android version and this rom was based on a 4.2.2 version.
Phone works fine and is fast, mods tweaks all are good
i also wiped cache, dalvik and even deleted the internal sd .( i deleted the internal sd because this phone is 32 GB but user can only use 23gb, so where is the 9GB? and i thought by deleting everything would bring back the other 9 GB) After doing that i saw a forum that gave a warning about the EFS. i opened the efs folder on my phone and seems to be empty. i made a backup of the EFS and the backup folder
and i see 2 files ( data.ext4.win.md5 / data.ext4.win total 74Kb)
What i want to do know : download the 4.3 or 4.4.2 samsung rom and flash that to go back stock. My question : is it possible ?
Or what can i do. i need so suggestions.

Bootloader unlock warranty topic
In one of the forums here (I couldn't find it or would had posted there) people were wondering what phones you could unlock the bootloader on. Well I have a developers edition and my wife has a GMS unlocked with wood back, white front with purple accents, anyway our service provider is AT&T but because we have a business account AT&T wouldn't let her design hers (only could have the black or white one) if she used an upgrade. Well hers I checked on Motorola's website just to see if her bootloader could be unlocked and sure enough it can. Both of our phones we purchased Motorola's insurance and cancelled AT&T's. We called Motorola and verified that if we unlocked hers it would void. I'm glad I purchased the developers edition. When she ordered hers the wood was an extra 0 the very next day they went down to . Well the Motorola representative was going to just send a back and the removal tool but my wife told them her purple buttons were silver but the accent around the camera was purple (actually the volume and power was she just had the case on Lmao). She orders one with the wood back and sends the other back. I figure hey since they were going to send my wife the back and the tool I would call and try to just order a back. They will allow any Moto maker phone do it but a developer phone can not even if you send to them. Their reasoning was it makes it easier for the techs to distinguish between phones when they have to work on them..........I really hope their tech's ain't that stupid. Lmao

[Q] Does Rooting voids warranty ? topic
Im currently using 2 android devices, the old one is already rooted using CWM recovery. The new one is quite costly and that's why wanted to make sure if rooting the device will void warranty?
Consider that im unrooting the device completely, before taking it to a service center.

Does Sony warranty cover this? topic
I fell down recently and got a very small chip on my phone's side panel. Any idea if sony's warranty covers this damage? My phone is 3.5 months old.
