[Q] Kindle Fire Reboots Every 30 Seconds? topic

My Kindle Fire first gen will boot up but I receive two errors as soon as I unlock it and it'll reboot every 30 seconds. What would be a way I could reinstall the stock OS on it using a mac? I have a factory cable if that would be of any use. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I am kind of a noob at this so step by step instructions would be great.

Hardware issues with out of warranty kindle fire topic

my kindle fire is way out of warranty and has a custom rom on it. i use it as a radio type device as my nexus 7 does not seem to work with the app i use for some reason (maybe a kitkat problem) but lately ive been noticing that i have to get the microusb thing just right in the kindle and leave it. if i do as much as to barely move the table it will quit charging. (the cable works fine with my nexus 7) and the headphones jack is really loose (again the headphones work just fine with my nexus 7). i dont really want to have to live with this anymore (note: i am really careful with my kindle fire so that cant be a problem) but dont know what to do. help please?

[Q] Need your opinions on Fire HD before I buy! topic

Hey kindle owners ! I need your advice and also opinions on the 7' Kindle fire HD...! :)

I am a student and basically I'm getting a tablet for reading and also for movies/music. Before I actually buy it, I need to know what I should expect from getting a Kindle for my daily use. There will be a lil of light gaming tho.

I've read that there's no USB OTG function for kindle. One of the cons because this tablet is suppose to last at least for 5 years. Paying about 200usd on my own as a student so it'll be a painful experience if I don't know what I should expect from this tablet.

All opinions and advice are much appreciated ! :)

Kindle Fire won't turn on topic

It was charging for most of the day, so the battery isn't dead. I turned it on and then the screen went black. Now it won't do anything unless I plug it into the computer or wall. I didn't root it or change anything.

[Q] Brick Fire HD 7 black screen after root topic

I rooted a friends HD 7 unit and loaded the img and twrp for the HD 8.9 by accident. Was told that it was a second gen however found out unit is really 43Z60 which is 1st gen HD 7". Did the following:

adb push stack /data/local/tmp/
adb shell
su
dd if=/data/local/tmp/stack of=/dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.1/by-name/system bs=6519488 seek=1
mount -o remount,rw ext4 /system
mv /system/etc/install-recovery.sh /system/etc/install-recovery.sh.bak
mount -o remount,ro ext4 /system
reboot bootloader

Unit OK after reboot to this point. Then did the following:

fastboot -i 0x1949 flash boot kfhd8-freedom-boot-8.4.3.img
fastboot -i 0x1949 flash recovery kfhd8-twrp-2.6.0.0-recovery.img
fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot

After this fastboot reboot the unit is now black and will not give any logo or power on. Tried the 20-30 sec power switch and running fastboot -i 0x1949 getver but no change. Device does not show up in device manager. Read some other posts that purchasing a fastboot cable may be able to recover it. Do you think that will help or am I screwed at this point? Should I try another method of recovery?

PLEASE HELP! Any comments appreciated. Otherwise off to Ebay to buy a used unit! :(

[Q] Problem rooting kindle fire hd 7" topic

Hi, I'm noob so I can not post on the developers questions.

I'm having this problem

Quote:

6. Wiped /sdcard, can't reboot from recovery: You thought you had the ROM file on the sdcard, but you didn't, and wiped everything, so without a ROM image, you can't boot into system.

Solution: Put the ROM file where your ADB binary is (usually inside platform-tools folder in Android SDK directory) and rename it rom.zip. On the device, boot into TWRP, select Advanced, then ADB Sideload. Connect device to PC. From here, run "adb" and hit Enter to check for your binary version, if it's anything lower than 1.0.3.0, you need to update the binaries by re-installing the latest Android SDK. Once the device is in sideloading mode and is connected to the PC, type "adb sideload rom.zip" and hit Enter. Now you'll find the ROM on the sdcard, flash, and you're done.

Everything works fine, kindle drivers for windows, SKD, ADB, etc, except that when I use the command adb side load rom.zip I get:

cannot use rom.zip

I need to know how to proceed and if I need a fast boot cable to transfer this image to the kindle sdcard.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Accidentally deleted everything, Kindle Fire stuck in TWRP topic

Hi,

I accidentally deleted everything through TWRP. I wanted the kindle fresh for my new ROM, and thought that deleting everything would make for a cleaner install. I was wrong and now all my kindle is good for is TWRP.

I tried mounting it, but windows doesn't recognize. Neither does Kindle Fire utility. Nothing shows up in device manager when I am in TWRP. It does however show up as android device when I am in the bootloader, but the second TWRP loads windows makes the noise when something gets unplugged and it dissapears.

I don't know what to do, nothing is working. When I restart the kindle it says superuser is not installed, and asks if I would like to install it. I say yes, and it fails. Super user WAS installed before I deleted everything. So was TWRP and FFF.

Any ideas?
