[Q] Soft reboot when turning on USB storage topic

Has any one else experienced the issue that the Fairphone performs a soft reboot when turning on USB storage, effectively making it impossible to transfer files to/from your phone the normal way? I have disabled the mood background, so that can't be it...

As a workaround, for now I'm transferring files through adb, but that's far from ideal.

Wi-fi stuck at "turning on" topic

I've updated my tablet to Kitkat using cyanogenmod nightly roms and there will be times where when I try to turn on the wi-fi, it will be stucked at "turning on".
Also, the On/Off button of the wi-fi cannot be toggled and rebooting the phone still doesn't fix it.

Is there any way to fix this like an external app that resets back the on/off toggle button of the wi-fi? Thanks! :)

Issues Turning on the Screen topic

Recently my LG G2 Verizon has started having an issue with turning on.

1. will no longer turn on by knock on. (knock off works)

2. when i push the power button on the back about 75% of the time the screen turns on then immediately turns off or turns off as soon as i touch the screen. I have to push it a bunch while touching the screen to get it to stay on and let me unlock it.

3. pulling down the notification bar from the top only pulls down partially then closes a lot of the time.


I have tried:

1. Uninstalling a bunch of apps, no success.

2. did a data reset and wiped everything. no success.

TWRP 2.6.3.2

When i first went into TWRP i tried to do a factory reset and it just sat there with an error that i could not mount the cache. Then i rebooted, went back in and this time did a data wipe and typed "yes" to verify. It got stuck trying to do that as well, but this time when i rebooted it was reset and i had to reenter all my account settings etc. But it is still having the same issue. I am wondering if there is something in the cache thats causing it and i wonder if it did not wipe the cache when it wiped the data.

At this point i just want the phone to work but not sure why TWRP is having issues. Has anyone else had any of these issues? Can anyone help with these issues?

I wouldnt mind flashing the VS98011B rom but i am not sure TWRP is working correctly and want to make sure it works right before i try to flash a new rom. Should i use CWM? if so how do i get from TWRP to CWM? i need some help.

Any advice is extremely appreciated.

After updating the Google app on my phone the Google Now that came with the app wouldn't turn on but I can still make notes and search for stuff hands-free but I can't set reminders or anything like that. I really want to use the potential of my phone. Is there anyway you can help me?

[Q] Turning a 4G Xoom to a Wifi Xoom topic

I have a 4G LTE Xoom that was on Verizon. I recently upgraded (now I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition), and my parents are buying my Xoom for use around the house on Wifi.

My question is: Can I just flash a Wifi Rom? Or will that mess up other things? Also, can/should I remove the LTE SIM card?

S3 NOT Turning On WIFI topic

Hi, I have a problem with my s3, since the upgrade to version 4.3 from 4.1 via OTA wifi it stopped working in 4.1 worked fine and when I upgrade to 4.3 stopped working, I flash, wipes, back to 4.1 , 4.2, put custom ROMS as omega, cyanogenmod and not work, it always stays at Turning on and ever on, not how to solve this problem try everything really, I am currently in version 4.3 and I still have the problem, here attached an image.

2.) I'm on a Galaxy S3 (Verizon).. What size do I use in Photoshop to create wallpapers for my themes? I've seen mixed answers..

device not turning on topic

in need of help!!
my device won't turn on, just a few hours it did!
i did nothing, one minute it worked perfectly and the other minute it didn't
i replaced the battery with a new one but it didn't help, i took it to a lab and the tech guy told that its an internal memory problem and he need to replace the flash drive... does anybody know this problem?

Moto G turning off itself topic

It's a long history.

One day, my Moto G stop charging. He charge until 1%, then turn itself on, and when it was on, it wasn't charging. I thought that was a OS/software problem, but nothing was sloving. I send to warranty and there they send me back saying that a piece was oxidated and was my fault, so they can't help me. When the cellphone arrive back, it was charing normaly. I really doesn't understand. But my PC wasn't showing the smartphone when plugged in the USB port. I started to use AirDroid.

I have a little struggle to update to Android 4.4.2 but I did it. The smartphone was really weird, but I let it go. Now I have the most annoying problem. It keep turning off by itself. I don't know if is software/OS, hardware, some app, something I'm doing wrong, but it's driving me crazy.

LCD on tablet keeps turning on when Wi-Fi off topic

I have a cheap android tablet with no GPS. Location is enabled, but it can only require the location from Wi-Fi networks.

Often toggled the Wi-Fi to off when I leave the tablet for a while. The problem is, that the screen turns on and off every few seconds when Wi-Fi is off.

Once I toggle Wi-Fi on, the screen behaves normally.

How can I fix this?

Wifi not turning on topic

I've had this problem for over 2-3 months now.
It happened when I updated my ROM to the newest Cm11 kit kat ROM.
I tried flashing different versions, currently i reverted my ROM to an older 4.2.2 CM 10.1 ROM thinking it would solve the problem but it still remains.
The wifi button is grayed out, and is always saying "Turning wifi on...". However, when I go into wifi (where the said msg is) i can change the button but it doesn't make a difference.

Screen is turning off on its own topic

I have a slight issue with my Droid Mini. It seems, that sometimes the screen is turning off on its own when I am in a app drawer mostly. I am scrolling, or moving apps, or even doing nothing and the screen shuts down sometimes instantly.

I sort of THINK that it may be because of the light/proximity sensor. Because it is happening when I am holding my phone in a left hand, and because the top bezel is so small, I think my finger is over some sensor here.

have you noticed the same issue? Or is it normal behavior?

Data roaming keeps turning itself back on topic

Like the title says, i keep turning data roaming off but when i check later (sometimes just a few seconds later) i find that it has turned itself back on.

im running stock sony UI 14.2.1.114

anyone have any idea what it could be? Google was little to no help. Apparently this doesnt seem to happen to anyone else :eek:

I have stock 4.1.2 rooted. I tried installing cwm 6.0.2.9 using odin and instead of pass it said reset on top. Now it shows yellow triangle but doesn't turn on after that. Please help.

S3 Screen not turning on. topic

I bought a S3 from someone and he said that the phone needs to be re-flashed. when the phone turns on, it boots up fines. blue light at top, Samsung boot sound, the touch works as u can hear the water effects thing to unlock the phone. he claims he tried the LCD in another S3 motherboard and the LCD works, I don't know if he's telling the truth or not. Can a software cause the screen to not turn on. doesn't turn on at all. I flashed a stock rom with ODIN and did factory reset in recovery mode. i can also go in download mode as well. the phone works well, i used the POWER + HOME buttons to take snapshops on the screen to kinda browse through the phone, everything works, WIFI, bluetooth. it's not picking up signal tho. it's saying "Not registered on network" when i try to make a call, but it recognizes my sim card and stuff. anyways I don't know if he indeed went into the phone's root system files and messed something up or not. please help ! :(

Motorola Razr not turning on topic

The battery of my phone died some months back and recently I bought a new battery. The phone used to turn on with the earlier battery but never used to last without charger. Now I got the new battery installed it doesn't turn on. When I plug it in the wall charger, the motorola logo appears and the battery sign appears with 0-5% battery everytime and it vanishes in 5 seconds.
I don't have a factory cable.
Is there any other way I can turn my phone on?

[Q] Phone not turning on topic

Hello, so one morning I woke up and my phone wouldn't turn on. I believe it was due to water damage but am not sure (I was not in my most clear head to say the least...). So the screen would not turn on, but the green indicator light would flash. Now in not my most brightest of moments, I plugged it into my charger. When I later checked, I felt that the back was warm, so I unplugged it. The phone would still not turn on so I put It in rice. I then ordered a repair kit to open the back to open and apply rice (it came very late), and once this was done it still did not turn. Now the water damage indicator in the sim slot changed color, but I am not actually sure how to proceed. Can I do anything to salvage this phone or should I just get a new one? Thanks for any help
