The ultimate oem look and protection... topic

I've been playing around with films lately, most screen protectors are crap these days. I wanted something industrial grade. Long story short, pulled off some extra clear bra from a sheet I did my car with. The results are 10 fold better. I used xpel ultimate self healing film.

https://www.xpel.com/products/xpel_u...ction_film.asp - the film really is self healing :D

Tools
Screen roller
Xpel ultimate film - order a decent size you will need extra.
Exacto knife
Very clean work area
Patience & precision!

Installation
1. Clean surface, no dust!
2. Cut film about 3 inches over the size of the actual template, you will leave fingerprints. You need that slack so you can grip it and then cut off the access where you gripped it.
3. Lay it down from top to bottom, this is the most important step. You cannot stop once you start, if you stop you will leave a crease line. You must take the roller and push the film down slowly, consistent but never stop.
4. Repeat rolling until all air bubbles are gone, there should be almost none the first time around. You do not use water with this application.
5. Trim the slack off with an exacto knife. Make sure not to cut in too hard, you don't want to cut into the phones waterproof seal on the edges.
6. Admire your work and of course do a light water test to make sure your z1 seals are good.

Pros
10 mils thick
Self healing - scratches disappear.
Very glossy
Super smooth
Fills in scratches underneath on the stock protector.
Oem look
The most durable out
Grippy on flat surfaces

Cons
Pricey
You have to be good at installing films - you really need a roller or be very consistent. You only get one shot.
You have to trim everything your self

[Q] Device protection plan! topic

Hello everyone,

I have a Note 3 n900w8 locked to Roger (Canadian provider), I also have protection plan that cost 8$/month. I am looking to take advantage from this protection plan. Today I called roger to file a report for lost phone, I was told by the representative that my phone will be blacklisted and they will ship me another device that cost 120$ plus 13% tax, so I decided to cancel the file report until I get more information of this process. so here is my concerns!

1-I remember someone told me to unlock the phone before I call to file a lost/stolen phone, any idea why?

2-If I take out the sim card from the device before I call to file a report for lost/stolen phone, will they be able to blacklist the phone??

All I am trying to do is get a replacement note 3 for 135$ and sell the phone I have for 450-500$.

Thanks in advance

Updated to KitKat unrooted. Write protection is still off??? topic

Just wondering if this is of any benefit. I used jcases method to keep root on kk but experienced some issues that required me to reflash the system. Now I am stuck unrooted on kk. I noticed that the write protection is still off. It returns (0) in adb. Could I use this to regain root somehow

Mini suit protection topic

Has anyone dropped the Moto X with the mini suit lightweight clear case? Just got it and it doesn't seem to protect the top or bottom. It also looks like the one sold by Moto is the same way. I got the bamboo back, so I don't want any of the frosted cases. Here is the one in question:
