[Q] Getting a Galaxy S5 but why keep the unlimited data? topic

I paid full price last year for my 16 gig S4 to keep my unlimited data but it really no use since there is no wireless tether working with ME7.
The phone is rooted.
Now paying with 450 mins, 250 texts and unlimited data.
So I can pay 0 estimated for a 32gig S5 and keep the above plan or
Sign contract pay 0 and have unlimited talk and text and 2 gig of data but be able to tether with the verizon app with a monthly cost of or plus the taxes.
Seems that's the way to go.
Am I wrong? Please explain why.

Keep root and update to 4.4? topic

Hi guys, as you have seen the Android 4.4 update is out now, and I was wondering if there is a way to keep my phone rooted and update to 4.4 thanks :)

Keep S3 or upgrade to S4? topic

Hi all, I don't know if I am asking this in the right forum? I have had the S3 for a while now and I love it!

Recently I was told by a Verizon rep that I could trade in an activated phone and get the new EDGE program for .50 a month, instead of the reg price of a month. I have a Fascinate phone that I could activate and use instead of my S3. I think all I have to do is swap the fascinate and the S3 and that would work.

My question to you guys, is it worth it? My contract is not up until Nov 23 of this year, but if I trade in an activated phone, I could upgrade now.
Is the S4 too locked down? Right now I am running CR Core and I do not have the Knox security on my phone.

Need copy of build.prop for v500 to keep it alive. topic

I accidentally restored an old backup of my build.prop. Now I get force closes of basically everything. I can't boot into recovery anymore, it took me an hour to boot into the system. Now I want to manually fix the build.prop to look stock again. If somebody could post the properties and values or send me a copy of the build.prop I'd be very happy.

I keep booting into this all the time. I cant even turn off my phone. This happened after i failed to flash LG G Pro 2 Rom V2.

Keep cellular data active when connected to WiFi topic

So I can't seem to find anything that answers this anywhere.

I have some remembered WiFi networks which are open but require me to hit OK on the login page once I connect in order to use the internet. If my phone is in my pocket it will connect to these networks but not be able to access the internet until I go through the login procedure.

I notice though that my phone drops the cellular data connection as soon as it connects to the network giving me a large amount of time with no data at all. I have searched high and low for the setting that will keep cellular data permanently active but I cannot find it. When I look in settings I see:

Mobile data
Use my data plan when Wi-Fi isn't available.

If I tap that I see no option to change anything that would always keep the data connection alive. I see only the following

Data roaming
Data roaming sound
Access point names
Network mode
Network operators

In Power I have Power saver switched Off and Sleep mode switched Off.

Does anyone know how I can enable this?

and others aren't? That doesn't make sense unless the method by which they disabled write protection was different.

keep app in memory topic

Im using tx stock rom without navbar and i use ultimate dynamic navbar app instead. This app alway killed by android when i surf the site with heavy size image. I tried many way to keep this app alive as using app setting, add command line in buildprop but no way are successful.
So anyone here can help me, plz tell me how to lock this app in memory.

It is really frustrating to slide and then to enter pattern on my DHD. You are sliding enough in the pattern in my opinion... Is there a way to bypass the need to slide before entering password?

"Allow USB Debugging?" Keep Popping Up topic

After upgrading to 4.3 on my i535 GS3, I'm now faced with a very annoying new problem. I use easytether pro to tether to my macbook, and now when I plug in the usb it pops up with "Allow USB Debugging?" followed by my computer's RSA key fingerprint, and then a checkbox for "Always allow from this computer".

It doesn't matter if I check the "always allow" because the next time I plug it in, it pops up with the same message again. For some reason it's not recognizing my computer, even though the RSA key fingerprint is exactly the same every time. Even worse, I have to go through this process twice every single time I plug in my usb - once for the usb connected as an installer, and twice when it switches from installer to media device.

I use tethering quite a bit, so this is kind of grinding my gears! Does anybody know what might be going on here? Is it possibly just a mac thing? Perhaps something wrong with my settings?

Tech guy but smartphone n00b. Today first attempt to upgrade CM7 to CM10 (boils down to an Android question, still... I think).
HTC Desire Z.

Upgrading went ok, but how to I migrate my:
-local contacts (phone, not google synced)
-apps
--settings

without reinstalling all apps and reconfiguring them?

I tried to restore /data from a previous ClockworkMod backup (lucky I made one), result was a sheer mess, OS reinited on whatever I did.
Back to cm7 for now.

Pointers appreciated.
