Chromecast connected to network but could not access the internet fix topic

This is a general fix for the common problem of Chromecast connecting to your wifi but not accessing the internet. On my connection the Chromecast would work sporadically and then drop. I have two Buffalo routers with one as a wireless bridge and both running DD-WRT. All I had to do was set the DNS to Google's servers, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Tasker: wifi connected? topic

Hi all,

I just begin using Tasker. My first profile is to, after bootup, wait 4 minutes then run app A, this one works fine. But I have trouble with my second profile:
it will run app B when wifi connected(no specific SSID or MAC,etc.), and as an Exit task, kill that app with taskkill plugin, if wifi disconnected. The problem is: if I MANUALLY switch ON and OFF wifi, it works fine, but it does not run that app after bootup (I installed SmartWifiToggler app which will automatically turn on wifi and connect.).

Any idea?

My SIII T999 is always connecting as portable media player. there is no option to chose mass storage. there are only 2 options. Media device (MTP) and Camera (PTP). Even when connected on a different PC...the same options. what do i have to do..... i have 4.1.2 stock rom and rooted.

Keep cellular data active when connected to WiFi topic

So I can't seem to find anything that answers this anywhere.

I have some remembered WiFi networks which are open but require me to hit OK on the login page once I connect in order to use the internet. If my phone is in my pocket it will connect to these networks but not be able to access the internet until I go through the login procedure.

I notice though that my phone drops the cellular data connection as soon as it connects to the network giving me a large amount of time with no data at all. I have searched high and low for the setting that will keep cellular data permanently active but I cannot find it. When I look in settings I see:

Mobile data
Use my data plan when Wi-Fi isn't available.

If I tap that I see no option to change anything that would always keep the data connection alive. I see only the following

Data roaming
Data roaming sound
Access point names
Network mode
Network operators

In Power I have Power saver switched Off and Sleep mode switched Off.

Does anyone know how I can enable this?

Wifi connected but no traffic topic

Hi Guys,

i have a problem.
Since a couple of days, the wifi connection on my i9100 does not work anymore. I tried multiple roms but to no avail.

The thing is that the wifi connection is established, but nothing works.

I tried different roms, router resets (but the problem occurs on any wifi connection).

Any ideas?

Volume issues when paired and connected topic

Has anyone else had an issue when the SW2 is connected to your phone that everything on the phone defaults to the earpiece speaker and Google Experience Launcher won't listen on its own when you say "okay google"? I tried unpairing and repairing, clearing data on the smartwatch apps, and still have the same problem.

Anyone have any ideas?
