As the title suggest I cannot play media on my phone (music or videos) I can however play videos through MX player but that is it. No snapchat, YouTube, twitch, music. I am running i337m on bell with CyanogenMod 11 20140322 nightly any ideas on how to fix this?

[Q] Inc as a data media device topic
I know I'm late to the party and this was probably already discussed, but I couldn't find it with search. Has anyone considered converting the inc to a data media device (http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...edia-device/)? I've seen this done with other devices (e.g. hp touchpad). I'd be nice to be able to use the EMMC partition for storage and data. I know there is ext4all but I still seem to run out of space quickly since dalvik-cache is half of /data.

[Q] USB always connected as "PORTABLE MEDIA PLAYER|" topic
My SIII T999 is always connecting as portable media player. there is no option to chose mass storage. there are only 2 options. Media device (MTP) and Camera (PTP). Even when connected on a different PC...the same options. what do i have to do..... i have 4.1.2 stock rom and rooted.

I currently have a S4 but i still also have the 3vo.
I'm going to use my 3vo as a media player but i don't need any apps such as messaging since it has no service.
What files would i need to delete in order create a media rom without getting force closes and such?

[Q] Phone not displaying media topic
I got my phone back after it being serviced by a local official Samsung service center because I managed to brick it. I only just noticed that it won't play any music or video. Not from the original Samsung music app, not the video player, not even YouTube. It also still loses network setting everytime I reboot so on a new boot it says network can't be found so I have to let it search for network again and manually choose the right network. Anybody have an idea what might be causing this?

[Q] xperia media server for stock rom topic
I really don't know how to explain what I want, perhaps because its my first post.
After using xflare based on 4.2.2 although I was not fully satisfied by it but really enjoyed its easy connectivity features with my tv, now am on sld rom but wanted those features desperately as no other application(among 10 different ones that I tried) comes even close to Sony's default(throw service, which was available in settings) It somehow integrated media server, smart connect and the default video and music players. Smart connect is good and I have downloaded it but it is only showing option for Bluetooth connectivity. Can anyone please tell me how can I get back the great sharing over WiFi experience again.
Have a116, moto xoom and a Panasonic ut50.

Enable/Disable Media Scanning. topic
Well known Media Scan Root unfortunately doesn't working on Kitkat. I always prefer to keep media scanning disabled unless I need it b'coz I don't wish with every USB connection and reboot I lose battery juice. So here is trick how to enable/disable media scanning.
1.Download attached Enable Media scanning and Disable media scanning txt file and copy to SD card
2.Download Terminal emulator from play store
3.Open terminal emulator and type
and enter. Grant superuser permission
4.Now open txt file you have copied (as per you want to enable/disable) with text editor and copy full line and paste to terminal emulator window and enter
here example for Enabling media scanner.

It should be like this.
Done.No need to reboot.
PS : If you don't know how and why to enable/Disable Media scanning don't use it.

[Q] HTC Rezound, after mounting SDcard, media on sdcard not showing up topic
Hi guys. i took the sdcard out and loaded more mp3's into it as i have in the past. i put it back into the Rezound and turned the phone on. then i "mount sd card" in settings. but the music and the pictures on the sdcard are not appearing, even though the phone shows it being mounted with the space available.
i've double checked and the data on the sdcard is good. it was working fine until i pulled it out and uploaded more mp3's on it. now the phone knows there is a sdcard in it, but the music app and camera/gallery apps are only showing files from the internal memory.
phone is rooted, i've frozen some apps and stuff with titanium backup, but i haven't changed anything recently, and it was working fine until now.
