(ROM) OFFICIAL 4.4.2 V500 Update -FLASH AWAY! topic

Hello All, this will update your V500 to 4.4.2, as is mine. This is based off the leaked 4.4.2 tot file.
Thanks AICJOFS for sending me the link to the leaked 4.4.2 official update tot.

Install the Drivers
Be sure usb debugging is ON!


Download the 4.4.2 .TOT file from here:

- I strongly suggest using a download manager like IDM to download this file
in case you have an error with your internet etc,
that way if you do, it'll continue to download this once you regain your internet connection. Trust me, it's worth it.

Download the .dll file you'll need last here:

DO NOT EXTRACT the .tot file, leave it alone!


Download and install LGFlashTool: http://goo.gl/qO1tqB
Download the MegalockDLL file for LGFlashTool here: http://goo.gl/oUa37Q
After the LG Flash Tool is installed, do NOT launch it.
-Extract MegaLock.dll from the zip and copy MegaLock.dll to C:\LG\LGFlashTool, replacing the old MegaLock.dll file

Power off your Gpad, plug in the usb into your Gpad (not your computer yet)...
Holding vol Up & Down, plug it into your computer and you should now be in DOWNLOAD mode,

Wait for the drivers to finish installing, after they are, open Device Manager
Scroll down and click Ports, now Right click LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port (COM2), then properties, then Advanced,
Now change the port # to 41, save and close out device manager

Now unplug your G Pad again from your computer.

Open LG Flash Tool
Select Manual Mode
Click on Add button on S/W field and load the V500 4.4.2 .TOT file
Then click the .DLL field and add the DLL file here. NOT the megalock.dll the First one you downloaded with the tot file.
NOW CLICK THAT YELLOW ARROW up top.
Wait for it to say READY. Once it says Ready plug in your G Pad again, in download mode.

Now As soon as you plug in your G Pad, In Download mode, it'll begin to flash, WAIT for it to say Pass in Blue, and it's done!

You now have a LG G Pad V500 with 4.4.2 Stock Kit Kat

Root as usual, Voila.

Need copy of build.prop for v500 to keep it alive. topic

I accidentally restored an old backup of my build.prop. Now I get force closes of basically everything. I can't boot into recovery anymore, it took me an hour to boot into the system. Now I want to manually fix the build.prop to look stock again. If somebody could post the properties and values or send me a copy of the build.prop I'd be very happy.

For V500 users. Roll your own kernel topic

I have had many requests to build a kernel for the Lg G pad V500 but am unable to do so because I do not have the device to test my kernels out on, and I don't release anything unless it's bulletproof.

But! here is a solution for those who would like to try. I posted a howto on building your own kernel, and just now posted the changes required for the V500 kernel compile to work. I would love to see someone step up to the plate to develop a kernel for the V500.

Error flashing "this package is for v500 devices; this is a wifi" topic

Hi guys!

I got the G Pad 8.3 since january 20th and I wanted to install Cyanogenmod on it.
I'm able to boot into TWRP Recovery without any problems but when I try to install the newest Cyanogenmod I get the following message:

Error: Error executing updater binary in zip 'cache/recovery/cm-11-20140129-
Error: Error installing zip file 'cache/recovery/cm-11-20140129-NIGHTLY-v500

This package is for "v500" devices; this is a "awifi"



So my device is not a v500 but an awifi? Does anyone know a solution for the problem or do I just have to wait until the Cyanogenmod guys release a version specific for the "awifi" model (whatever the difference is...)

[Q] LG V500 vs LG V510 topic

Hi Folks,

I am looking for buying a Tablet and found this one a perfect size and need. I have few Questions !

1) I like the White version which isnt available for GPE( V510) ? So I am more inclined to buy V500. But I am want to either use Custom Roms or Get a GPE firmware so I will get all the fast updates. ?

Can anyone suggest whether I should buy a non GPE and use http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2564646 This or Should I buy GPE directly and adjust with Black itself

Also

Right Now V500 is available for 299$ whereas GPE is full priced 349. Which would make more sense according to my needs.

Please let me know what you guys think.

V500 CM11 ROM Display Size topic

Hi All

I am new here, recently rooted and installed the CM11 ROM

So far so good. Just wondering however.

The Icons and overall feel of the OS seems very large to me, and in some icons even pixalated (Instagram app)

Is this normal?

Also when I rotate the tab into landscape the text from the apps are cut off, its like it doesnt fit onto the page.

Do i need to install a launcher such as Apex?or GPE?

[V500] Install Stock ROM (KDZ) LG G PAD topic

I bring this very good way to install a. KDZ (Rom stock) at LG G Pad, tested by me.

I do not take responsibility for the terminal to be kept as a brick, a billet, etc..



1: We downloaded the ROM for our team here: Firmware_LG_G_Pad

2: We got the LG mobile support tool and install it from here: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/client...2CAppSetup.exe

3: Download I install LG drivers if you have not already installed: Flash_Tool.1.0.54.rar - 3.35 MB

4: We lower the Install FlashTool (R&D Test Tool): Flash_Tool.1.0.54.rar - 3.35 MB

5: Unzip and run the UpTestEX.exe FlashTool.

6: In FlashTool window select:

- Select Type = 3GQCT.



- PhoneMode = DIAG.



- Select kdz file = Select the KDZ.



- Now Click "Normal web upgrade test".



- Now leave another window, you give it to "Start Upgrade".



- It will start to load the program.



- You wait a few seconds and another window will ask country and language.
- Country = Republic of Korea.
- Language = Inglés.



We left well, since we are Spanish, which is not to put the your country.



- To register the new language you press, Clear phone Software update Registry.



- And I will say that the record is complete.



- Press Ok.



- And start the flashing process.



7: I miss all this without connecting the tablet, the program tells me clearly that I normally do and connect without being in (ModoDowload) but to connect to the program detects it, has to be in LG software then clikais back into the program and you will recognize it, began to extract the KDZ and when you start Flash, one entered the tablet in ModoDowload after reboot everything perfect or bootloop or anything, all my settings such as tapeworms, but with the new version, but I recommend getting HardReset or factory reset.

8: How to do a hard reset after flashing (recommended)
1 - Shut off the tablet.
2 - with tight-volume button and the kindle Let the button pressed on with less volume.
Ye let go of the button again and, - 3 When the LG logo comes up, Put down the power button (leaving Tight-blasting time button), nothing more release, you apretáis the volume knob more and ignition time ignition and leaving the least volume and the tightest volume at once. Until the hard reset menu comes up.
4 - hard reset menu, apretáis the power button to confirm you 3 times. Restart in android and it will always do the wipes. Restarts one and you're set up everything again.

EYE, the terminal end and restart, but the pc does not open ended process, DO NOT DISCONNECT USB CABLE UNTIL END THE PROCESS IN THE PC.
