Any Flex users thinking at all about the S5 or M8? topic

I love my curve (Flex) and I know it's way to early to even think about another phone but being the phone junkie I am it's hard not to. Just wondering if any Flex users thought about trying a S5 or M8 when they come out? I doubt I would get another phone but I did get a good deal on my Flex and or have a jump to use so I wouldn't be spending more money. I used a S4 for about a year which is long for me. I'm just not feeling the rehashed design. I liked the HTC One, so I would probably like the M8.

Question for Page Plus Users.. topic

Have a simple question if anyone can answer. When trying to install a ROM with safestrap, after you wipe data/cache do you lose the flash off your phone & have to reprogram the phone again? If it just need to be reactivated, I'm fine with that.

My phone is VZN Galaxy S4 flashed to page plus. I want to install a custom rom without messing up the flash if possible. Thanks

[MULTI USER] Multiple users on your phone topic

Okay guys, we can work with multiple users on this device.

Before we begin, here's what you need:
1- Root access granted
2- Terminal Emulator [from Google play] OR adb enabled
3- Busybox installed [increases the range of commands accepted by the emulator]

Now open Terminal Emulator, and type these codes to see the maximum users allowed

Quote:

su
getprop fw.max_users

It would show 1

To change the maximum users allowed, type

Quote:

su
setprop fw.max_users <your required number>

Mine is 4.

To create a user, type

Quote:

su
pm create-user <username>

To remove a user, type

Quote:

su
pm remove-user <usernumber>

NOTE:- the primary user number is 0. The users you have created would have numbers from 1 and onwards.

If you want to change the user names after creation, go to [B]/data/system/users/userX.xml
here X is the user number, from 0 and onwards.
0 is the primary user.

SECURITY NOTE:
The second user can still access your messages, contacts, etc. It's best if you set a lock screen password on your own user, and select another launcher for the second user, hide all the sensitive applications using some application hider.

If you are on the second user, most of the data from the primary user is hidden (you can not acces it).
For example:
- photos
- unlocked levels in Angry Birds
- music
- contacts
- google account
- clipboard
- home screen

But there are a few exceptions:
- all the apps are there, as if they were just installed
- the recent apps menu
- the use-app-as-default-setting (I don't know the official name). For example: if you set Apex as default in the Guest account, it will also be default in the primary account.
- your messages!!

Enable Multi Users on Micromax A116 topic

Hey guys, I am gonna tell you how to enable multi users on your A116 !!
First of all install Xposed framework and reboot then follow the given steps:-

Download the latest version of this app from the link above... Then after download is completed install this app on your phone... After installation is complete, open Xposed installer app and go to modules and enable this app !! Then reboot you phone... After reboot is complete, go to settings there you will find a sub setting named "Users" !! Open it and enjoy...

For V500 users. Roll your own kernel topic

I have had many requests to build a kernel for the Lg G pad V500 but am unable to do so because I do not have the device to test my kernels out on, and I don't release anything unless it's bulletproof.

But! here is a solution for those who would like to try. I posted a howto on building your own kernel, and just now posted the changes required for the V500 kernel compile to work. I would love to see someone step up to the plate to develop a kernel for the V500.

[Q] XT1031 Boost Mobile Users topic

Okay so I figured I wasn't the only one.

I wanted to start a thread to compare every ones phone side by side. For example I am having problems whenever I flash a ROM I get stuck in "Roaming Indicator Off". On top of that MMS will not send or receive. I have read others and usually mine aren't the same for others. So lets compare what we have done to our phones.

My phone, unlocked bootloader, updated to 4.4.2 from ota, rooted, and recovery TWRP 2.6.3.2 with fixed touch.

What do you have?
Do you have the same problems?
Any fixes if so.

Maybe this thread will get somewhere.

Enable Multiple Users in KitKat 4.4 topic

I found this Xposed module that will enable multiple users in KitKat 4.4. I'm running it on my locked bootloader Moto X. Download MoDaCo Toolkit Xposed module and enable it then reboot, next open MoDaCo and scroll down to Google Nexus (All) and check Show users on power menu, exit app and reboot phone. After reboot go to settings and under apps you should see users tap on users and tap on add. You will have two choices secured or un-secured. After choosing which one you want just set it up the way you want. Switching between users is easy; just hold down power button and choose which user you want to use. I haven't tried any of the other modifications in the app.

App2SD for S4 users? topic

Looking for something similar to App2SD for the S4 that will allow me to load Spotify and its downloads to the SD card.

App2SD partially works but wont allow for everything, anyone able to point me in the right direction to get everything loaded to my SD card?

Any Cricket users here? topic

Long time lurker, Used to have a screen name here but hadn't been on in a while and couldn't remember what address I used then. So starting over.

My main goal of this thread is to get information together for Cricket users to help set their phones up more functional and full. Get tips and advice in one place to help others with problems and solutions for those of us running cricket flashed L900s. I plan to add more later just wanted to get something started to motivate me to post information I have come across and personal experiences playing with my GN2 with stock apps and replacements, and new roms. Ive lost my cricket flash a few times now and believe its working better now than when I first had it flashed.... Don't judge me, I was in a bind and needed a phone, didn't have web access or time to research anything, so yes I paid for the initial flash. I tend to research the crap out of things like this before I attempt it on my own, have done it since my original Hero, Like I said I will add to this later with information on cricket specific problems and solutions. If anyone has their own experience feel free to post.

Egyptian users needed!! topic

hey everyone, im a P6 user in egypt, and i accidently did something wrong that bricked my phone, and after i managed to unbrick it and flashed the latest B-125 and everything went fine, except that the phone wont connect to my operator, its always with no signal and showing "no service" but when i search for networks manually i find all the networks in my country but cant connect to mine (Can't connect to this network at this time) i also tried to call 911 to check its not hardware, it connected and someone answered, so i don't think its hardware problem, so someone told me that it may be my operators files is missing from the folder /cust in the root of the phone
so any egyptian user can provide me with a copy from the folder /cust, may be that's it or not, but i must try every possible fix

What KitKat ROM are you running that has 4g that works?

I am currently on Vanir and cannot get it to work. I have tried different APN, different radios (GA02 and GJ04). I have gone into *#*#data#*#* and turned on LTE. I have gone into *#*#4636#*#* and I am on GSM/CDMA auto (PRL). I have gone to networks settings and selected LTE. NONE of the settings stick.

I had 4g working at one point on CM 11 Playfulgod edition but I can't remember exactly what I did to make it work. So I am looking for other Ting users that have 4g working and what ROM you are using.
