[Q] Upgrading to 4.4 from 4.3? topic

I have the T-Mobile Note 3, and right now I am on Wicked v5 (Rom based on Android 4.3). The recovery I'm on is TWRP 2.3.6.9.

Is it worth upgrading to one of the 4.4.2 roms? Do I need to flash a different recovery or bootloader before I do so? The only requirement I need is WiFi calling on the ROM. If someone can give me some guidance I would appreciate it. I read some stuff but was getting confused on the bootloader required and flashing different kernels if you're using the old bootloader.

[Q] Issues after upgrading to 4.2 topic

After updating to 4.4 stock rom i now get google.process.gapps has been stopped along with every gapp crashing. A have flashed the 4.4 gapps package but that didnt fix it.

Any ideas so i can use my phone again?

Will you/did you upgrade from the M7 to the M8? If you're sticking with the M7 why?

I updated my htc one to 4.4 via OTA today.Then, my phone stuck at a screen that displays "htc one beats audio".

i have tried factory reset and wipe the cache partition .but still stuck at the screen after rebooting.Also after htc one quietly brilliant screen there is green colour dotted or something like page and then come pink color page music comes on this page after that it stucks at a screen that displays "htc one beats audio".

I would say HTC 8S is really a smart looking phone, but the major problem is apps can't be installed is the SD card where the phone has only 2GB internal memory where most surprisingly the operating system almost grasp all the space so that only 5/6 apps can be installed in this phone.
Can any developer or user can share a solution to overcome this f..king circumstance?
More importantly, I have seen there are few HTC windows phone has the facility to upgrade it operating system into Android. Does this facility applicable for HTC 8S????? If this can be possible please I request someone to come forward to share the procedures.

Hi guys my phone is locked with 4.1.2 stock rooted. I never updated for the fear of knox stuff and the risk of beeing unable to downgrade.
My phone works great and battery life is awesome. Is it something that really worth upgrading?
Can you give me some suggestione were to go?

[Q] Worth upgrading to OG? topic

Hey OG users, I'm currently an HTC Sensation 4G / T-Mobile user looking for a good low-cost used phone to upgrade to.

Is the Optimus G a good phone right now?

I like the idea of the OG because:

1. T-Mobile LTE and HSPA+ is supposedly supported


2. It's a sister phone with the Nexus 4 so all Google's hardware driver updates should be able to be ported


3. It HAS AN SD CARD SLOT


4. It's got all the specs I want (HD screen, Quad Core, 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM)


5. It has OFFICIAL CM11. (How is that? Stable? Works well? I'm running an unofficial build on my senni and it's fantastic.)


6. Battery is fairly easily user-replaceable for when it degrades after a while.


7. IT'S BETTER THAN MY INCREDIBLY LOW RAM/ROM SENSATION.

I would probably use it for 18 - 30 Months and I don't want to spend more than 0 on an upgrade so this would be perfect. (I think)

Any advice you can give me? Would you would recommend this phone?

Upgrading to Android 4.4 (KitKat) Question topic

I own a Galaxy S4 device and the device is fully encrypted.
It is currently running Android 4.3.

If I upgrade to Android 4.4 (Kit kat), will the encryption effect the upgrade?
If yes, then does this mean I have to decrypt my phone before upgrading?

[Q] Data won't work after upgrading to NAE via KIES? topic

I have learned all I know about flashing ROM's and rooting phones thanks to all of the helpful people here! I'm running the latest stock NAE, which I found as an automatic download via KIES, on my unlocked sph l720, with the StraightTalk network and AT&T SIM. Everything works great except for the data, it will toggle on, but not actually receive data.
Has anyone else came across this issue and been able to resolve it? Or any advice for a new guy? I'd really appreciate it!

Upgrading battery topic

So...I am new to the root and XDA thang...and I am no electrical or software engineer...but it SEEMS plausible that it could be possible that it might come to fruition one day that there could be a better battery for the Omate. Am I wrong? I just seems that in 6, 12, and 18 months from now that we could easily be looking at a battery for our smartwatches exceeding the 1000mAh mark...

What say you?

Upgrading SPH-L710 from 4.1.2 to 4.3 topic

I am by no means an expert when it comes to rooting/unrooting but I have done it a few times on this phone so I am looking for help here.

A while back I got the message that a 4.3 update was available. I tried to install it on my rooted phone and it failed. So I followed the steps in the post "ODIN Installation (detailed)" in this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1963812. I assumed this was a first step in getting my phone into a state where it can be upgraded.

All of that was successful as far as I can tell. The phone rebooted and I still have root access.

Before I try to install the 4.3 update I want to verify my phone is in the correct state to do this. What can I look at on my phone to know if I am in a good state to try the upgrade? I just don't want to brick my phone.

Upgrading to Kitkat topic

I'm a samsung noob. Been an HTC guy for a few years and moved over here last month. At this point I just rooted the stock rom so I could keep my Knox flag untripped. I want to upgrade to kitkat but I am unsure of my options. Things are a bit different on Samsungs than I'm used to. Is it possible to upgrade to one of the kitkat releases and not trip Knox?

What would be the easiest way to upgrade to kit kat and keep root? Im on verizon, non dev with version 4.2.2. System version is 139.10.53.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US. Also using a Mac.

I've upgrade my N9005 to 4.4.2, it's still on the 4.3 modem though, so I tried updating using the standalone NA2 modem image via Odin, looks like it flashed ok, boot into the OS, still says baseband is MJ7.

Flashed the entire 2.2GB XEO release of 4.4.2 which has the modem in it, same thing, OS flashes fine, no errors but once in the OS, baseband is still MJ7.

Is there some trick to getting this flashed correctly?

Im confused right now...Can i just download any stock based custom rom ( like : sweetrom ) and just flash it in CWM recovery?

And do the root stays? Or i need to do another different way?

Major benefits upgrading to KK over JB? topic

Hello! I was wondering if there were any major advantages to upgrading my already rooted vzwONE and running santod040's debloated 4.3 "rom".

Reason I ask is because I tried to install the ViperOne ROM and realized I wasn't on KK. It looks like a cool rom! But I would probably just be as happy with the NuSenseONE rom.

Advice/opinions/suggestions please!
