Hey guys. Just a couple quick questions. I have the Optimus G Pro E-980 and I have it on the Straight Talk network. And my carrier name says "home" instead of "AT&T". I was wondering how I can get it to say AT&T instead of home. I just got my wife the Optimus G also on the ST network and her carrier says AT&T, not Home. Is this something with the phone itself or is it how ST provisions the sim card? If it is how the card is provisioned, can I have ST make it say AT&T? Both phones are AT&T branded.

I know most people would change their carrier name to something other than AT&T but to be honest, I would prefer that over it saying home. It just seems so Generic to say that....lol. By the way, this phone is not rooted or anything. I would like to root but I took the 10p update and don't feel like flashing it back and starting all over just to root it. I'll wait for a root method for the 10p. Thanks guys.

just install latest nightly of cm 11,but got no internet data.
I'm not on verizon,i use local carrier here in indonesia.
I already did backup and restore from stock 4.1.1.
Just let u guys know,i had an epic touch last year,and every aosp rom that i install,i always flash 2 files on system/etc/ppp,which is just a blank files,but they're work..but not on razr m

Does Rooting the phone in any way help us to get the carrier unlock key for the device from the phone's root files?

Carrier branding on unlocked phone? topic

If I buy the unlocked Moto x from the moto maker website will it have any carrier branding on the back of the phone? From there website it looks like it might have tmobile logo on the back.

[Q] Carrier support deficiency syndrome topic

After doing several searches on the Moto X forum, I have only found one thread that even mentions my carrier which is C Spire, or Cspire, or C-Spire which ever way it would be listed. The MotoX is fairly new to Cspire which may explain the lack of activity. Cspire uses a XT1049 model on the Lte network. The rooting threads that I've seen seem to be carrier specific or at least ask you to download a carrier specific apk. I am on 4.2.2 now and my system version is 139.4.3.ghost_row.ACGLTE.en.US. My build number is13.9.0Q2.X-191-TA-3. I have rooted 4 other android devices, but none of the others stressed carrier specific root methods. I am only looking to root my device not unlock the bootloader at this time. Am I reading to much into my problem? Thanks for any responses.

Unlock XT925 to use with other carrier topic

Hi everyone, I want to unlock my phone to use it with another carrier. I'm ending my contract soon, my phone is from Claro and I don't like their service, I'm thinking on switching to Net10. Since my phone is already a GSM, what should I do to unlock it? Unlock code? I've seen a few pages but don't seem trustworthy. Also, do I have to flash modems to get LTE or this is only with the CDMA XT926? Any help will be appreciated.

I flashed Omega v21, followed the instructions.
The problem now, no signal from carrier.
Sometimes it connects, then few seconds later it disconnects automatically.

[Q] HTC One Rooting and Unlocking Carrier topic

Hi All,

Hi have the HTC One Locked to Rogers, I had previously unlocked the phone as Im with Koodo. I purchased and unlock code and everything worked just find I was using the phone on the Koodo network for several months, then one day it lock up at the quietly brilliant screen after several attempts I was able to reboot the phone and same thing happened, again after a reboot it finally wouldn't power up. Needless to say I had to send it in under warrantied repair. I got the phone back and the main-board had to be replaced. I attempted to unlock the phone again via code just as I did before using IMEI, each individual states that a code could not be generated. I have rooted devices before but I'm no seabiscuit if you know what I mean and am not entirely sure to what extent I need to go to root and unlock the phone. Before anyone says anything about the rooting/unlocking i know this wont immediately solve my problem but if I have this access can I not find the unlock code in the phone once rooted in addition to other alternatives?. I appreciate any help you guys and gals have to offer.

I have a used galaxy s3. Someone must have entered ##72786#, carrier reset, into the handset because every time it boots it goes into hands free activation. I have to cancel it each time. Obviously, a factory reset does not clear this.

How do I stop it? Is there another code entry I can make with the handset to reset and cancel the carrier wipe?

[Q] Mobile Carrier not working on S3 topic

Hi all, I have an S3 I9300, which I tried to upgrade to Omega V54 Rom, android 4.3, but the mobile carrier doesn't work. I also tried to flash stock 4.3 on it, tried MG2, MG4 and ME4 basebands by rooting it with CF Root but this didn't solve the problem. I've actually tried everything I could find on the internet and still can't make the phone unstuck from "Emergency Calls Only".
The phone is factory unlocked and I tried every SIM card I could lay my hands on, but still doesn't work.
Can anyone of the experts here help me with this? I have to have it fixed by tomorrow!

Signal Bars / carrier name? topic

Hi,

is there a way (stock kitkat) to show the carriername on the status bar (like near the clock), as soon/as long i have mobile reception ? I never know if i got gsm signal, because the signal bars are showing up as well when i'm outta coverage in "emergerndy calls only" status. To find out i have always to scroll down the notification panel. Maybe i am missing something but in my eyes this is a quite important feature, which every nokia from the 90ies had...

So a guy at my work thinks that depending on your carrier, pictures from the internet will look different.
The only thing I said that would change would be how fast the pictures loads.
I'm 99% sure I'm right but what does everyone else think?
