Front Camera Takes Pictures in HDR Mode topic

I'm using the default camera app on Beanstalk and I've also installed the 4.4 camera app but I experienced the same issue.

I don't even have the option to use HDR on the main camera and I've looked through the settings, but can't find anything relating to it.

By HDR mode I mean the front camera takes several pictures with different exposures and merges them together, it's annoying because it takes about 2 seconds and you must hold camera perfectly still to get it not to be blurry.

If I use the front camera while using Snapchat I do not have any issues. Any idea what could be causing this? How else should troubleshoot?

Unable to save pictures or screenshots: possibly due to corrupt storage? topic

tl;dr: I cannot save pictures or screenshots on my phone, as well as a few other small quirks, can someone help?

Hello XDA, I've just recently encountered a strange issue with my Nexus 5 and I was hoping one of you might be able to help me out. I'd like to have screenshots to break up the text wall, but due to the nature of my issue, that's out of the question.

So my big problem started about two days ago, when I wanted to flash the omnirom nightly (1/27 to be exact) to my phone.

While doing the factory reset before flashing the rom, TWRP got stuck (and I'm talking about 10 minutes) formatting /data not including internal media. I was left with no choice but to hold volume down and power and hope for the best. This is what I bet screwed things up. After that I tried again, and the formatting worked, and omnirom booted, but with the error message of something about device UIDs being inconsistent and recommending I format my data partition.

Well since the rom was a nightly, I felt like ignoring the message, but I did notice issues: I could install and uninstall apps, but none of them could really access the internal storage (for example, any attempts to save a picture, like through chrome, would fail. I also couldn't restore from titanium backup. Connecting to my pc would not display my files).

Dismayed, I obeyed the message and did a full wipe of the data partition and tried again (not just the factory reset one, but the full wipe of /data, and don't worry, I could still backup using ADB pull so I haven't lost anything). This caused the UID error message to go away but I still had issues-not as bad as before-but still issues. Titanium backup worked, so I used that to restore successfully, but I couldn't make new backups. I was frustrated and blamed my issues on using a nightly so I did another full reset and went back to stock.

Now, I wasn't given another UID message, and ALMOST everything works, but I am left with the issue that is the reason I post this thread. I can't take pictures, video, or screenshots and a select few apps fail to recognize the internal sd card (reddit sync, for example, will fail to save pictures when I try to download them, but other apps, like chrome, will succeed to do so, so it is a non-issue. I could also connect to pc again, yay!).

The camera (app and hardware) will still work, and I can tell it takes the picture because the little thumbnail that slides to the side after taking a picture appears. It just fails to save the picture. When I swipe to view the picture, it shows up only as a dark gray box. If I view it in the photos app, I am greeted with the message "media not found." When I try to take videos, Camera will force close the moment I press record.

I've tried a few things, like clearing the camera's data, but that was unsuccessful. Different camera apps (I tried Focal) result in the same problem. Using the Root File Browser app, I also made sure that permissions weren't locking access to that folder. I've also tried deleting the DCIM folder by connecting to PC and then taking another picture, but that still did nothing.

I don't know what else I could do besides another /data format, but I already did that and I don't feel like another format would really do anything since I already did one. I'm left with little that I could think would fix this, but I'm sure someone here could help me.

It is late now and I have school in the morning, so I'll check back on this thread in about 16 or so hours when I'm done with that. Then if anyone has a potential fix, I could try it. If I don't see a fix, I could post a video describing my problem or any more information you might find useful. Thank you all and goodnight.

Unable to send or receive pictures topic

I have a kingo rooted mj5 note 3. It was working fine until one day it stopped receiving pictures. When someone sends a picture and i click download, it will take a minute to try to download it then say "Error: Network error has occured". Then when i try to send a picture it tries to send it for like 10 minutes then quits with an error. Ive tried rebooting my phone, ive tried resetting my APN to default, my mobile data packets are on, ive tried using 3rd party mms apps, auto retrieve text messages options is on. Browsing pictures in real fullscreen? topic

Since I bought a smartphone with widescreen display, I'd like to browse pictures in full widescreen mode.

Well, it sounds easy but I can't find a way to do it with the Nexus5 through stock apps.

When browsing pictures in portrait through the Gallery this is what i get: the picture is cropped with 4 fat useless black bars on each side.

No way to get fullscreen with stock apps?

[Q] Can't view pictures after reboot topic

My C6806 doesn't display pictures immediately after reboot. If I take a camera shot, the small icon displaying the save process is going and going forever, and the picture is not saved. 15-20 minutes after reboot it works fine. I'm on .290 firmware, rooted. Scratching my head what's wrong... Anyone else have this problem or knows how to fix it?

Diztronic Voyeur Case Review + Pictures topic

http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Voye...tronic+nexus+5

Review of the Older Diztronic Case for comparison - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2538730

Packaging:

As per Diztronic Style, the packaging is minimalistic. Simple and easy to open. It's nice to not to see money isn't going for flash of presentation but of substance to the actual product.

Build Quality/Design

Once again, Diztronic opted for a two tone style. Where the majority is this nice soft matte finish with accents of glossy black. It's designed very tastefully. The gloss accents flows well with the matte finish. The front bezel/frame is glossy and the rest is almost entirely matte black. There is one very nice touch I'd like to point out, the "buttons" are matte but are outlines with the gloss finish. It made the buttons "pop" out more and was just very visually appealing imo. Also, the cutout for the camera is outlined in the gloss finish to breakup the dominating matte finish on the back. The biggest difference would be the back, it has a "window" showing the nexus logo. There is a plastic film protector that I didn't remove when taking the pictures but its a nice clear sturdy plastic. Last; the Diztronic logo was moved from the back to the side at the bottom right (also in the Gloss finish). Very nice job Diztronic, the style of the case flows very well that isn't too dull and boring but a nice blend of aesthetic cues and functionality.

Also, the "frame" around the edges of the phone isn't the same all the way around. The corners have more plastic to be able to endure harder drops. It's not blatantly obvious but a nice blend of function and style. See pictures to see the "bumper" corners. The back also has very small rubber feet when laying the phone down on its back. I believe its to prevent too many scratch on the clear plastic window. Like the last version, the front border is lifted so the screen isn't touching the table when placed faced down.

As like the last case, the "buttons" on the case are the nicest feeling and looking buttons I've come across on any tpu case. The looks and feel like actual buttons. Pressing them is easy and works like pressing the real buttons on the Nexus 5 itself.

All cutouts are placed/cut correctly with everything lining up just fine. The cutouts for ports are big enough for the use of mostly any usb cable or headphone plug. The fit is pretty much perfect, the plastic isn't too stiff where its impossible to the get phone in the case but not too soft where it feels cheap. When in the case the Nexus 5 seems solid in hand. Has a good weight to it. It's what I look for in the compromise between slimness and protection in a case.

Conclusion

This is my new favorite case for the Nexus 5. It's a solid performer for a good price! Diztronic has hit another homerun with this case.

Carrier and pictures. topic

So a guy at my work thinks that depending on your carrier, pictures from the internet will look different.
The only thing I said that would change would be how fast the pictures loads.
I'm 99% sure I'm right but what does everyone else think?
